Ahier" followed . _ In introducing this toast the M . P . S . said that Sir Knight Ahier was their youngest member , but from what they noticed in his zeal and indefatigability in Craft , Mark , and Royal Arch Masonry they might all be sure of his endeavours to show ,

in his career as a Red Cross Knight that he was worthy of the honour bestowed on him that night . The toast was received with extra warmth , and Sir Knight Ahier having replied , "The Past Sovereigns , " coupled with the names of Sir Knights Thos . Leat and L . P . Sir Knight Charles Knott , Intendant-General , remarked upon the very great interest taken in every branch of Masonry by Sir Knight Alexander Howell , who was a

member of every Masonic Degree meeting in Hampshire , and of some others , viz . —Craft , Royal Arch , Mark , Royal Ark Mariners , Allied Degrees , Cryptic , Rose Croix , Templar , Secret Monitor , Swedenborgian Rite , Rosicrucian , Red Cross , and K . H . S ., in most of which he held office , besides being a Life Governor and Past Steward of each of the three central Masonic Charities , and of the Mark

Benevolent Fund , and a Vice-Patron and Past Steward of the Hants and Isle of Wight Masonic Educational and Benevolent Institution . The energy and ability which Bro . The toast having been drunk with musical honours , Sir Knight Alexander Howell briefly responded , and especially thanked Sir Knight Knott for the very kind way in which he had referred to his Masonic career . He regretted to have to apologise for the absence of Sir Knight C . F .
