Ritchie , C . C ., Balfour Allan , Dr . James Sinclair , Pennacchini , Capt . James Cutting , John Bennett , Peter Black , and James Eraser . Visitors : Bros . H . Massey , P . M . 192 S ; VV . J . Ardishir Jewanji , 1140 ; C . R . Foster , 1466 ; E . P . Delevanti , 2021 ; and Capt . Cooper , 1437 . The business on the paper consisted of raising Bro . Capt . Cutting , passing Bros . F . G . W . Jones and John Bennett , and initiating Messrs . James Fraser and Peter Black . After these ceremonies Lord Saltoun , Substitute Grand Master of Scotland and Prov . Grand Master of Aberdeenshire , S . W ., was elected W . M . j Bro . Alexander Ritchie ,
C . C ., was elected Treasurer ; Bro . W . Robertson , Tyler ; and Bro . James Gray , J . P ., late of Brisbane , Queensland , Trustee . The Auditors were appointed , a Past Master ' s jewel was voted to Bro . Page , WrM ., proposed by Bro . Whitehead , and seconded by Bro . Dr . Forbes , and it was then arranged that a summer trip and ladies' banquet should take place , a Committee being appointed to carry it out .
The lodge was then closed , and an excellent banquet followed . The toasts were afterwards honoured . Bro . Whitehead , I . P . M ., in proposing "The W . M ., " said that Bro . Page had worked well for the lodge , for the Masonic Charities , and for Masonry generally . The success of the lodge was due to him . They were pleased to see such an assemblage around the board , and also to see the W . M . work so well as he had worked that evening . It
showed he was ready to do anything he could for the welfare of the lodge . Bro . John Page , W . M ., in responding , said it had pleased Bro . Whitehead to say some very flattering things about him , but he was afraid the brethren must come to the conclusion that there had been a little stretch . However , he knew the feeling that prompted the remarks was good , and he could assure the brethren that it would at all times be his
very great pleasure to do all he could for the welfare of the Scots Lodge . Bros . Fraser and Black responded to the toast of " The Initiates . " The Worship ful Master thanked the brethren for the assistance they had given him in raising a good list for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , the Jubilee Festival of which was simply magnificent , no other Charity having
ever shown such a total amount . The visitors having replied to the toast proposed and drunk in their honour , Bro . Whitehead responded to thetoastof "The l . P . M ., " and said it was very gratifying to him to think that though the present was only the third year of the existence of the Scots Lodge , it had made such progress among Scotsmen . It was also very pleasing to him to find the lodge had
members who came from distant parts . Bro . Hozier , M P ., had said he should feel glail when ihe time cams for him to take office to take the lowest office in the lodge . That spoke a great deal for the Scots Lodge , considering that Lanarkshire , which Bro . Hozier presided over , was a large province . In the Scots Lodge at present were many members who were M . P . ' s and Provincial Grand Masters in Scotland . That was another evidence of the interest
taken by Scotsmen in the Scots Lodge , as it showed that its success was in the hearts not only of Scotsmen in London , but of Scotsmen generally . The Giand Lodge of Scotland bore the Scots Lodge , London , all good wishes . There was hardly a lodge they went to in Scotland where its members did not express the wish that
if they came to London they might visit the Scots Lodge . As long as his health was spared it would be his pleasure to do all in his power for the good of the Scots Lodge in London . The other toasts followed . The evening was one of those charming evenings which

There was some excellent singing , a most brotherly feeling among the members , a thoroughly cordial weicome to the visitors , and a bill of fare wherein the various courses , consisting of glorious Scotch dishes , we re interspersed with quotations from Allan Ramsay ' s " Gentle Shepherd , " "The Vision , " "The Monk , " " Christ ' s Kirk on the Green , " and other pastorals , selected by the indefatigable Secretary , Bro . James Thomson .

The evening was one of those charming evenings which
Craft Masonry.
