BRO . GEORGE T . BROWN , P . M . and P . Z . 65 . The death of this prominent member of the Lodge of Prosperity , No . 65 , occurred rather suddenly on the 26 th ult ., at his residence in Great College-street . Initiated in the above lodge in 18 71 he was called by a sudden emergency in 18 75 to fill the ofiice of Secretary , and he continued to hold the same ( with the exception
of the tsvo years required for the chairs of S . W . and W . M . ) up to the time of his death ; no trouble was too much for him and he was always at the service of his lodge . An ardent worker and Steward for all the thrte Charities , he conducted several Charity Associations ,
thereby raising large amounts which otherwise might never have been collected . He was also the prime mover , founder , and the first M . E . Z . of the Royal Arch Chapter attached to 1 ) 5 , and his loss is now deeply deplored by his widow , family , and the brethren of his lodge .

ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR GIRLS .

Miss Davis , Miss Buck , and the Staff of the School . After an early tea , lawn tennis and other games svere indulged in and the evening concluded with a dance , and music , and supper , most of the visitors remaining to prayers . On Monday the Crystal Palace treat to the children
took place , provided by . the thoughtful kindness of the Board of Stesvards of the recent Festival out of their own furids , and it is needless to say was enjoyed to the full by the little people . The School separates this week for the usual summer holidays after a half year of thorough success in every direction .
Masonic Service.
MASONIC SERVICE .
On Sunday evening , the ioth ult ., the pretty little church at Deeping St . Nicholas , near Spalding , was the scene of a goodly gathering of the brethren of the Hundred of Elloe Lodge , No . 469 , Spalding , who had journeyed there to a Masonic service to which they had been invited by the vicar , Bro . Rev . W . Benson , who
is also Chaplain of the lodge , and he , together with the W . M ., Bro . J . E . West , and Bro . G . F . Barrell , Prov , G . D . C , as well as D . C . of the local lodge , were responsible for the arrangements for the service , which proved highly satisfactory to the brethren and friends present , despite the unpropitious weather which prevailed until late in the afternoon .
Crosvds of the inhabitants of the village and visitors filled the church to overflowing . Representatives were present from the lodges at Bourne and Peterborough , also Bro . Barrell , P . J . G . W . Kent , consequently when the prbcession was formed , the brethren numbered over 50 , and , including the choir and clergy , numbered close upon a hundred . The purple of the brethren in the
higher walks of Masonry caused the procession to be of a very imposing character . This started from the vicarage for the church singing the processional hymn , '' Onward , Christian soldiers , " and after reaching their places in the church came the Masonic hymn , " Hail , Eternal , by Whose aid . " Bro . Rev . R . G . Ash , J . W ., P . P . G . C , rendered the first part , of the service , and Bro . the Rev . Benson
took the second part . The first lesson was read by Bro . J . E . West , W . M ' ., and the second lesson by Bro . G . F . Barrell , D . C . The special Psalms were 84 , 96 , and 148 , and the anthem " I waited for the Lord , " from Mendelsohnn ' s "Hymn of Praise , " the duet being exceptionally well sung by Mrs . Brogden and Mrs . Linnell . The singing of the anthem was truly a most artistic effort , and spoke volumes for the vocal ability of those ' concerned . The choir was augmented by members from other churches , notably Bourne , Peawork , and Market Deeping , but especially from the choir of the Spalding Parish Church ; the success of whose efforts , which proved a musical treat , was mainly owing to Bro , W . J . Price , Organist of Spalding Parish Church , who so kindly undertook the training of the special choir .
Bro . T . P . Holland , lodge Organist , very ably presided at the organ . The sermon was preached by Bro . the Rev . Benson from I . Kings V ., 17 v . : " And the king commanded , and they brought great stones , costly stones , hewed stones , to lay the foundation of the house , " and , both
from a Masonic and public point of view , was an exceptionally able and remarkable discourse . The singing of the retrocessional hymn , "Saviour , blessed Saviour , " brought to a conclusion one of the most s riking and interesting services ever held at Deeping St . Nicholas .

BRO . GEORGE T . BROWN , P . M . and P . Z .

Never was a finer or more successful ex-pupils day than took place at this Institution on Saturday last . A large number of those who had received their education here arrived during the afternoon and were cordiall y received by Bros . Frank Richardson ( Chairman of the month ) , J . H . Matthews , C . Hammerton , and Sir John Monckton ( members of the House Committee ) , and by
Miss Davis , Miss Buck , and the Staff of the School .

Nicholas .
