Masonic Guide To South Australia.

MASONIC GUIDE TO SOUTH AUSTRALIA .

Bro . Philip Sansom , P . S . G . W ., has once more made the Grand Lodge of South Australia his debtor by the editing *' of " The Masonic Guide 1893-94 , " for that colony . liis in its 12 th issue , and isa great credit to our indefatigable brother , who thus ably caters for the needs of some thousands of Craftsmen , who desire authentative

information respecting their Grand Lodge , and its vigorous and generally healthy subordinates . I have been an editor of a Provincial Calendar , assisted in the compilation of calendars for countries , and have now in my library , or am familiar with the important Masonic Directories published either for provinces , or Grand Lodges at home and abroad , so can practically sympathise with my brother editors

wherever located . It is a labour that few fully appreciate , and yet look for almost everything Masonic in such handy volumes . Some of our Provincial Calendars have to do with 50 to luo lodges , and even more , besides numerous chapters , Mark lodges , and other organisations , so that the one before mc is small in some respects , and concerns but 40 lodges or less . But , though the Grand Lodge of Australia is both young

and small comparatively , the Earl of Kintore , as Grand Master , presides over one of the most united and wellmanaged bodies of the kind in the world , and I venture to state that no Grand Lodge possesses a better " Masonic Guide " than does South Australia in Bro . Sansom ' s compact annual , and few really have so good . For comprehensiveness , accuracy , and interest it has no superior , and

few equals . Editors in this country should send for copies from the excellent printers and publishers , Messrs . J . IL Sherring and Co ., 42 , Currie-street , Adelaide , South Australia j price one shilling each ( postage one penny ) . 'There is so much in Bro . Sansom ' s " Guide " that to particularise would bc difficult , and yet sometime I shall try to describe its many features . It is full of interest for

Craftsmen , no matter to what Grand Lodge they belong , and there are few more useful books to be obtained for newlyinitiatfd brethren , being so calculated to give them a fair idea of the extent and character of our widespread Fraternity . I warmly congratulate Bro . Sansom on the successful completion of his editorial labours for another year . VV . J . HUGHAN .

THE R . W . BRO . T . W . TEW AND ST . OSWALD LODGE .

\ t having become an assured fact that the connection which has existed for above 31 ) years between Bro . T . W . Tew , J . P ., and the St . Oswald Lodge , No . 910 , could never be renewed in its entirety , that the resignation of his provincial office of Grand Master had

VV . J . HUGHAN .
