he said , received many acts of kindness at his hands , and he was well-known and highl y beloved in the province for his valuable Masonic labours . The W . AL then presented his lordshi p with an exceedingly chaste and handsome P . AI . ' s

Alott , his lordship was greeted with the " royal salute , " in view of his appointment as P . G . M . Bro . Lord Skelmersdale said he had to acknowledge the gift of that beautiful jewel as one of brotherl y love and the friendship which he had

gained in that lodge and throughout the province . He would always wear that jewel , and he could assure the brethren it would never fail to bring to his remembrance the duty which he owed to the lodge , and the province generally . After the

W . AL had initiated a candidate into the mysteries and privileges of the order , the brethren adjourned from labour to a sumptuous banquet , provided by the host of the Blundellsands Hotel , to which about 40 sat down , under the presidency of Bro . Broadbridge , W . M . During

ceremony of advancement was most efficientl y conducted by the W . AL , the scriptural portions being rendered b y the Rev . Dr . Havroft , and the music b y Bro . Wykes . The ballot for the W . AL for the ensuing year resulted in the election of Bro . Weate , S . W ., by a very large majority .

Stretton was unanimously re-elected to the office of Treasurer , anel rece ' ived the cordial thanks of the brethren feir his valuable services to the lodge , during the lengthened period of six years . Audit Committee . " Bro . George Toller , jun . M . O ., proposed that a Past AJaster ' s jewel be presented to Bro . Partridge , in tangible recognition of the admirable manner in which , on all iccasions he had conducted the ceremonies of ; his degree , and for his assiduity in the faithful lis ; harge of the responsible duties appertaining
