He thanked them for the kind reception given them and the intellectual treat they had enjoyed in the lodge , for never had he been present when the work had been so excellently delivered . Bros . T . D . Griffin , P . M . I , and Halse , 131 , also responded . " 1 he Officers " was next given , to which Bro . Newton Dunn , S . W ., replied , and the Tyler ' s toast concluded a successful and enjoyable gathering .

Bro . E . Whomes , Organist , was in charge of the musical arrangements , which gave great satisfaction to all present , and was assisted by Master W . D . Pritchard . Mr . Alan Cuthbert , and Bros . T . B . Sandercock , P . M ., Sec . 2530 ; G . Pritchard , P . M . 9 ; and J . Ireland . Bro . R . Hargreaves Rogers is well known as one of the most active members of the Corporation of lhe City of London , having served as Chairman of several of its most important Committees . He is also Deputy Alderman for his Ward . Bro . Rogers was a candidate last year for the high office of Sheriff of London , and was only defeated by a narrow majority of 45 on a poll of 4000 . Bro . Deputy Rogers is again a candidate for that office this year , and is confident , with the assistance of his many friends , of success .
