Bro . VV . H . Richardson , Preceptor , proposed that a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes of thc lodge to Bro . G . Reynolds for his useful present , as that completed all the
working tools , and with the other prior presents made their lodge of instruction perfect , and also that a penny-piece be given to him from the lodge funds . Seconded by Bro . T . A . Dickson , and carried unanimously . The supper committee announced that thc supper would take place at the Criterion , on Thursday evening , the 13 th inst . Our worthy companion , who lives at Southport , is a very regular attendant at the meetings , travelling more than 30 miles to and fro , and discharges the duties of his office , which he has held for many years , in a most efficient manner . caterer . The usual loyal and Royal Arch toasts being disposed of , the M . E . Z ., Comp . Clegg , proposed " The Health of the Grand Superintendent of the Province , Col . Le Gendre N . Starkie , " and expressed the hearty thanks of the chapter for thc honour which was about to be conferred upon them by holding the Provincial Grand Chapter under their
banner on the 27 th of March inst . The M . E . Z . next proposed the toast of "Thc Second and Third Prov . Grand Principals , Comps . Royds and Sillitoe and the rest of the Prov . Grand Officers . " He regretted that Comp . Royds was unable to attend , and Comp . Chadwick had left to catch a train , but they had their esteemed Third Prov . Grand Principal amongst them , and
they were all deeply indebted to him not only for his attendance but also for the very admirable manner in which hc had performed the ceremony of installation that evening . The toast was received with applause , and Comp . Sillitoe on rising to reply was warmly greeted . He said that hc had becn with Comp . Royds at Bury on the previous evening , and he expressed his regret that an
important engagement prevented his attending that meeting . They all knew that Comp . Royds was a most enthusiastic and energetic Mason ; he spent a vastiamount of time and travelled long distances to attend meetings of the various chapters in the province ; in fact , no matter in what part of the province he ( Comp . Sillitoe ) was visiting he was not surprised to meet Comp . Royds . As to their Prov . G . S . E .,
Comp . Chadwick , he was most indefatigable in his endeavours to promote the interests of every degree in Freemasonry throughout the province , and he was highly and deservedly esteemed by every Mason with whom he came in contact . Speaking for himself he ( Comp . Sillitoe ) was ready at any time to assist the chapters in their working , and more especially so in Oldham where he had

many business as well as Masonic friends . He then urged the companions to devise some means whereby they could make an annual grant per member to the East Lancashire Educational and Benevolent Institution , and before sitting down he proposed " Ihe Health of the Three Newly-Installed Principals , " which was heartily responded to . Other toasts followed and the evening passed off pleasantly .

Bro . VV . H . Richardson , Preceptor , proposed that a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes of thc lodge to Bro . G . Reynolds for his useful present , as that completed all the
working tools , and with the other prior presents made their lodge of instruction perfect , and also that a penny-piece be given to him from the lodge funds . Seconded by Bro . T . A . Dickson , and carried unanimously . The supper committee announced that thc supper would take place at the Criterion , on Thursday evening , the 13 th inst . Starkie , " and expressed the hearty thanks of the chapter for thc honour which was about to be conferred upon them by holding the Provincial Grand Chapter under their
banner on the 27 th of March inst . The M . E . Z . next proposed the toast of "Thc Second and Third Prov . Grand Principals , Comps . Royds and Sillitoe and the rest of the Prov . Grand Officers . " He regretted that Comp . Royds was unable to attend , and Comp . Chadwick had left to catch a train , but they had their esteemed Third Prov . Grand Principal amongst them , and
they were all deeply indebted to him not only for his attendance but also for the very admirable manner in which hc had performed the ceremony of installation that evening . The toast was received with applause , and Comp . Sillitoe on rising to reply was warmly greeted . He said that hc had becn with Comp . Royds at Bury on the previous evening , and he expressed his regret that an
important engagement prevented his attending that meeting . They all knew that Comp . Royds was a most enthusiastic and energetic Mason ; he spent a vastiamount of time and travelled long distances to attend meetings of the various chapters in the province ; in fact , no matter in what part of the province he ( Comp . Sillitoe ) was visiting he was not surprised to meet Comp . Royds . As to their Prov . G . S . E .,
Comp . Chadwick , he was most indefatigable in his endeavours to promote the interests of every degree in Freemasonry throughout the province , and he was highly and deservedly esteemed by every Mason with whom he came in contact . Speaking for himself he ( Comp . Sillitoe ) was ready at any time to assist the chapters in their working , and more especially so in Oldham where he had

many business as well as Masonic friends . He then urged the companions to devise some means whereby they could make an annual grant per member to the East Lancashire Educational and Benevolent Institution , and before sitting down he proposed " Ihe Health of the Three Newly-Installed Principals , " which was heartily responded to . circumstances had prevented his attendance . The good repute of the chapter and the fame of the splendour of the temple wherein its ceremonies were performed had often reached him , and at last he had been able to assure himself that neither had been exaggerated .
