In acknowledging the compliment , he said he felt it an honour and pleasure to have acted as Installing Master , from the fact that it was during his Mastership that Bro . Millbank
was admitted into Freemasonry , and he felt that in placing him in the chair that day he was only putting a coping-stone to the work he had commenced . The following gentlemen were balloted for , viz .: Messrs . Alfred Bradridge and Edmund Piper , and after " Hearty good wishes , " the lodge was closed . After the banquet the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were

Railing as the backbone of the _ Provincial Charities , as he was Secretary to the Committee , and was looked to when trouble came upon any brother for advice , and was ever ready to give it and assist in alleviating trouble and distress . Bro . Railing was deeply touched by the kind words that had been spoken of him , and felt gratified that the hard
work he did in the cause of Freemasonry and Charity in the county of Essex was appreciated , and strongly pressed the claims ol the Boys' School on the brethren , asking them now the lodge had become so prosperous to send up a Steward with a good list to support that eminent Bro . Lord Lathom , who would preside at the Festival , and referred to Bro . Dehane , one of the elected representatives of the
Charity Committee , as the brother who was entrusted with the management of their votes , and who had been so eminently successful at all the elections since the Charity Committee had been in existence .
After the banquet the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were

work he did in the cause of Freemasonry and Charity in the county of Essex was appreciated , and strongly pressed the claims ol the Boys' School on the brethren , asking them now the lodge had become so prosperous to send up a Steward with a good list to support that eminent Bro . elected him he would , in conjunction with his colleagues , Bros . Shedd , Wood , and Clowes , do his best , and was glad Bro .
