The opening hymn having been sung , the CONSECRATING OFFICER addressed the brethren , afler which the acting Prov . Grand Sicrttary , B u . REDFEARN , lequested the Consecrating Officer to constitule the ne * lod ^ e . The < even founders of the lodge then stood [ orwzrd—Bros . C . H .

Algar Orde-Powlett—and they approved of the officers named in the warrant to preside over them . The dedication then took place , the anthem and the sanclus being sung , Bio Gasktll , Prov . G . Org ., presiding at the organ .

The Prov . G . Chaplain , Bro . F . GRIFFITHS , then read the lesson , afler which the lodge board was uncovered , and the Consecrating Officer went round the lodge , sprinkling water , corn , wine , oil , and salt , after which the lodge was duly consecrated . The Masonic anthem , " Hail , Masonry Divine , " was then sung , Bro . G . W . Pattinson singing the solo , afler which Bros . Barstow , P . S . G . W ., and

BARSTOW , in appropiiate terms , submitted " The Worshipful Master . " Bro . BACKHOUSE appropriately replied .

From the very great success which has attended the Southern Star Lodge , No . 1158 , for many years past the idea of founding a chapter in connection with the same struck the minds of several companions , among whom was Comp . James Block , who took ihi initiative , and through wh > se instrumentality specially , together with Comp . Jas . Austin , who was most assiduous , the petition was signed , presented , and the warrant granted .

the Southern Star . Chapter , to the service of the true and living Gjd , M ist High ; that he congralulaled the founders ( nearly all of whjm were breihren tf the Southern Star Lodge , No . 1158 ) upon theirnjbledisire ; and that he had not the slightest doubt of it proving to be one of the mo it successful chapters in the Metropolis , and he earnestly wished it every prosperity .

The D . C . after addressing the Principals and founders , signifying their assent afier the charter was read , an excellent oration upon the Sipreme Degree and its ideal teaching was delivered by Comp . J . STUDHOLME BROWNRIGG , G . Supt . Bucks . The chapter was then solemnly dedicated and constituted in ancient form . The Principals des ' gnate were installed as follows : Co . np . J . Algar Orde-Powlett—and they approved of the officers named in the warrant to preside over them . The dedication then took place , the anthem and the sanclus being sung , Bio Gasktll , Prov . G . Org ., presiding at the organ .

The Prov . G . Chaplain , Bro . F . GRIFFITHS , then read the lesson , afler which the lodge board was uncovered , and the Consecrating Officer went round the lodge , sprinkling water , corn , wine , oil , and salt , after which the lodge was duly consecrated . CONSECRATION OF THE SOUTHERN STAR CHAPTER , No . 1158 .

From the very great success which has attended the Southern Star Lodge , No . 1158 , for many years past the idea of founding a chapter in connection with the same struck the minds of several companions , among whom was Comp . James Block , who took ihi initiative , and through wh > se instrumentality specially , together with Comp . Jas . Austin , who was most assiduous , the petition was signed , presented , and the warrant granted .

The consecration ceremony look place at the Holborn Restaurant , on the 27 th ult ., by Comp . E . Letchworth , F . S . A ., G . S . E ., ably assisted by Comps . A . C . Spaull , P . D . G . D . C , as H . ; Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg , G . Supt . Bucks , as J . ; C . F . Matier , P . D . G . D . C , as Scribe N . ; and J . H . Matthews , P . G . D . C , as D . C

Chapter , to the service of the true and living Gjd , M ist High ; that he congralulaled the founders ( nearly all of whjm were breihren tf the Southern Star Lodge , No . 1158 ) upon theirnjbledisire ; and that he had not the slightest doubt of it proving to be one of the mo it successful chapters in the Metropolis , and he earnestly wished it every prosperity .

The D . C . after addressing the Principals and founders , signifying their assent afier the charter was read , an excellent oration upon the Sipreme Degree and its ideal teaching was delivered by Comp . J . STUDHOLME BROWNRIGG , G . Supt . Bucks . The chapter was then solemnly dedicated and constituted in ancient form . The Principals des ' gnate were installed as follows : Co . np . J .
