in the ist degree , which he did in a very able manner , and was deservedly applauded . Bro . Geo . Macdonald proposed that Wor . Bro . A . Edginton , P . M . of Concord , be written to ancl requested to sit for his photograph , so that the brethren may have it framed and placed in the

lodge in a similar manner to that of Wor . Bro . A . King ; ancl further that the necessary funds be given from the general fund of the lodge to enable him to do so . The proposition was seconded by the W . M . and carrieel unanimously . The W . M ' . then brought to the notice of tlie brethren the

application of Bro . John Sandford . for payment of Debenture claims . The Secretary read the correspondence referring to it , and it was unanimously resolved to remit the case to the Permament Committee for their decision in the matter . One Brother was proposed for affiliation , and one

candidate for initiation . This terminated the business of the lodge , which was closed in peace and harmony . The regular meeting of lodge Concord was held on tlie 2 ist September , 1872 . mysteries of Freemasonrv in the lirst degree . The W . AI . then drew attention to the fact of his having [ received a circular from Bro . Spencer , asking for the number of brethren who would be willing to take the Alasonic : Register for 1873 . lt was ordered lhat all who wished to do

so should leave their names with the Secretary . The W . AI . said he had received an appeal foi assistance from the Secretary ofthe 1 ncto-British Institution . He thought the Institution a very worthy one ; he would puipose that the sum ot Rs . 100 be given towards its support . This

was seconded b y Bro . Anderson , J . W . ; but liefore being put to the vote the W . AI . invited discussion on the subject ; whereupon Uro . Smale said he thought it behoved us to look well after our Charitv Fund , as we had had a great many calls upon il lately ; he was quite willing

to give the sum , if the brethren thought we could afford to do so . Bro . Geo . Macdonald spoke in behalf of the Institution , and lie felt assured that the brethren of Concord would give that sum cheerfully towards such a good and deserving Charity , l . ' pon its being put tothe vote , it was

received a letter from Dr . Beaumont , R . N ., 2 nd Capt ., expressing his regret at being unable to attend . Sir Knt . Golding , it also appeared , was prevented Jhrough illness attending to his duties as ist Capt ., and much regret was expressed at the cause ofhis absence . This beintr

as Eminent Prior , and the reception of candidates into the Order oi Alalia . There being no other business before the encampment , it was closed in ancient chivalric form , and the Sir Kni ghts retired for refreshment . An excellent repast was laid in the adjoining banquetting hall , Frater Spalding

catering with his usual skill , and the Sir Kni ghts , though few in number , did ample justice to the viands . On the removal of the cloth the usual loyal and chivalric toasts were given from the chair , the Iv C expressing a hope that on the occasion of their next meeting he might be able to propose , in connection with the toast of " The

AI . E . and S . Grand Alaster , " the name of a most distinguished personage . ( Hear , hear . ) In giving the toast of the D . G . AI . and Ollicers of Grand Conclave , Sir Knight Holmes spoke in eulogistic terms of Sir Knight Huyshe , a very distinguished Alason and Knight Templar . Sir Knight Pitchin responded on behalf of the Past Grand Ollicers . The toast of the IVovincial

Grand Commander , Sir Knight Capt . Philips , was very well received . The E . C . took occasion to remark on the eminently chivalric and courteous bearing of their esteemed P . G . Conimander , who was deservedly popular amongst the Sir Knights . 1 le greatly hoped to hear of another encampment being opened shortly in the province . which

was as yet but a small one , so far as numbers went , but he believed , in point of dignity , and rank of its members , it would hold its own against other provinces of greater pretensions . At all events they were fortunate in their Provincial Grand Commander , of whom they were ust ) y proud . The toast was drank with honours .

There being no other business before the encampment , it was closed in ancient chivalric form , and the Sir Kni ghts retired for refreshment . An excellent repast was laid in the adjoining banquetting hall , Frater Spalding

catering with his usual skill , and the Sir Kni ghts , though few in number , did ample justice to the viands . On the removal of the cloth the usual loyal and chivalric toasts were given from the chair , the Iv C expressing a hope that on the occasion of their next meeting he might be able to propose , in connection with the toast of " The

AI . E . and S . Grand Alaster , " the name of a most distinguished personage . ( Hear , hear . ) In giving the toast of the D . G . AI . and Ollicers of Grand Conclave , Sir Knight Holmes spoke in eulogistic terms of Sir Knight Huyshe , a very distinguished Alason and Knight Templar . Sir Knight Pitchin responded on behalf of the Past Grand Ollicers . The toast of the IVovincial

Grand Commander , Sir Knight Capt . Philips , was very well received . The E . C . took occasion to remark on the eminently chivalric and courteous bearing of their esteemed P . G . Conimander , who was deservedly popular amongst the Sir Knights . 1 le greatly hoped to hear of another encampment being opened shortly in the province . which

was as yet but a small one , so far as numbers went , but he believed , in point of dignity , and rank of its members , it would hold its own against other provinces of greater pretensions . At all events they were fortunate in their Provincial Grand Commander , of whom they were ust ) y proud . The toast was drank with honours .
