installed as a Knight Templar in the De Warenne Preceptory , and shortly after he became a member of the Ancient and Accepted Rite in the Eureka Rose Croix Chapter . His admission in the Brighthelmstone Council of the Royal and Select Masters in 1893 completes Bro . Clowes ' s Masonic record to date . We should also say that Bro . Clowes has served three

Stewardships for the Masonic Institutions . It is not given to many Masons to achieve so much in the short space of four years , but it must be remembered that Bro . Percy Clowes comes from a good Masonic stock , as all who have witnessed the untiring zeal vvhich his father , Bro . Richard Clowes , P . G . D ., has exhibited in every branch of Masonry for so many years can

testify , and we congratulate our worthy and distinguished brother on the prospect of the Masonic tradition of the family being worthily continued in the person of the son . Bro . Marriage Of Bro. J. M. Mcleod.

MARRIAGE OF BRO . J . M . MCLEOD .

The pretty little parish church of St . Paul ' s , Rusthall , Tunbridge Wells , on Tuesday last , was the centre of attraction for a goodly number of the Craftsmen who had there foregathered to witness the marriage of Bro . J . Morrison McLeod vvith Miss S . E .

Bonner , of Leadenham , Lincolnshire , formerly of Tunbridge Wells . The ceremony was conducted by that popular and genial churchman and Mason , Bro . the Rev . C . J . Martyn , P . G . Chap ., and in order to render it more complete he had the appropriate assistance of the Rev . H . A . Hebb , the Head Master of the Boys ' School .

The bride was given away by our much esteemed Past G . Treasurer , Bro . G . Everett , and it is needless to say he performed his duty with characteristic gallantry ; the bridegroom being supported by Bro . W . B . Taylor , J . W . 1028 , an old school-fellow , and by his son , Mr . R . H . McLeod . After the ceremony , the company adjourned to the Wellington Hotel , and did ample justice to a

wellserved dejeuner , being presided over by Bro . GEORGE EVERETT , vvho , in most felicitous terms , gave "The Health of the Bride and Bridgroom" vvith a vein of humour peculiarly his own . He was followed by Bro . J BRABY , who gave a sincere tribute of his respect for the bride , who had for six years been the able manageress of his hotel , and earned the esteem of all with whom she had come in

contact . Our Bro . MCLEOD , in acknowledging the toast , made graceful allusion to the compliment paid him by the attendance of so many good friends , who had vied with each other in endeavouring to make the occasion so

happy . The valuable and numerous gifts showered upon his wife and himself by their kind friends , and , above all , the knowledge that his choice of a mother for his children was also their choice , made him happy in the event of the day which would be one ever to be remembered .

Due honour having been paid to the bridesmaids and the Chairman , the happy pair departed , amidst a shower of rice and slippers , to spend a short honeymoon in the Isle of Wight . We are sure that our readers will join with us in wishing our Boys' Secretary and Mrs . McLeod a long lease of health , happiness , and prosperity .

Amongst the company present were Bros . George Everett and Richard Eve , P . G . Treasurers ; Rev . C . J . Martyn , P . G . Chap ., Chaplain in Ordinary to the Queen ; James Terry , Sec . R . M . B . I ., and Hedges , Sec . R . M . I . G ., P . G . S . Bs . ; James Willing , jun ., and Mrs . Willing ; Bro . James Stephens and Mrs . Stephens , Rev . H . A . Hebb , Head Master R . M . I . B ., and Mrs . Hebb ,

Bro . Stanley J . Attenborough , Bro . C . W . Hudson and Mrs . Hudson , Bro . W . E . Morrison , J . P . ( Eastb > urne ) , Bro . Edwin Storr and Mrs . Storr , Bros . J . R . Wilson ( Yorks ) , W . McLeod , Miss Maynard , Miss Witty , Miss Hoadley Charlton ( Tunbridge Wells ) , and others .

During the day , Bro . and Mrs . McLeod were the recipients of numerous telegrams conveying good wishes from all parts of the country , not the least gratifying being from the brethren of Semper Fidelis Lodge , Exeter ( whose installation banquet had taken place on the previous evening ) , and from the Teaching Staff , the Office Staff , and the Boys of the R . M . Inst ., to whom the Chairman of the Board of Management gave a half holiday in honour of the event .
