White returned thanks in very feeling terms , and assured the brethren their kind present would have the effect of making him yet more desirous of the welfare of the Pelham Lodge , and he hoped to justify the good opinion they had of him ; he vvas thankful that the small services he had been able to render to the lodge had been so appreciated . He begged his brethren to believe that he himself valued their

handsome gift very highly , and vvas sure it would equally be a source of great gratification also to Mrs . White . He trusted that his brethren would strive vvith him in endeavouring to up hold the principles of the Craft in every way . On behalf of his wife and himself he wished to return their very sincere thanks for that very handsome present , vvhich would always be p laced in a prominent place in his house . Craft , and range amongst the Past Masters of this lodge in particular , display great interest and energy for the benefit of Freemasonry in general . The brethren subsequently partook of a banquet to celebrate the event , the table being beautifully prepared , and decorated with a profusion of choice flowers and fruit , vvhich gave the beautiful room a most brilliant appearance .

The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given , and duly responded to . The pleasure of the evening vvas greatly enhanced by some capital vocal and instrumental music . During the evening a very handsome Past Master ' s jewel vvas presented to Bro . John I . Tiller , I . P . M ., vvith a suitable inscription , acknowledging the valuable assistance he had given to the lodge for many years .

White returned thanks in very feeling terms , and assured the brethren their kind present would have the effect of making him yet more desirous of the welfare of the Pelham Lodge , and he hoped to justify the good opinion they had of him ; he vvas thankful that the small services he had been able to render to the lodge had been so appreciated . He begged his brethren to believe that he himself valued their

handsome gift very highly , and vvas sure it would equally be a source of great gratification also to Mrs . White . He trusted that his brethren would strive vvith him in endeavouring to up hold the principles of the Craft in every way . The brethren subsequently partook of a banquet to celebrate the event , the table being beautifully prepared , and decorated with a profusion of choice flowers and fruit , vvhich gave the beautiful room a most brilliant appearance .

The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given , and duly responded to . The pleasure of the evening vvas greatly enhanced by some capital vocal and instrumental music . During the evening a very handsome Past Master ' s jewel vvas presented to Bro . John I . Tiller , I . P . M ., vvith a suitable inscription , acknowledging the valuable assistance he had given to the lodge for many years .
