After the Auditors' report , showing a balance in favour of the lodge , had been adopted , Bro . C . Kingsley Milbourne was raised . Bro . A . E . Carter , the VV . M . elect ,
was presented to the Installing Master , Bro . J . Faulkner , P . M ., P . P . S . G . D ., to receive the benefit of installation , and , after the usual formalities , was inducted into the chair of K . S . as VV . M . of the lodge for the ensuing year . The W . LOUGHBOROUGH . Charnwood Chapter ( No . 1007 ) . —Tuesday , the 29 th ult ., will long be remembered as a red-letter day in the history of Freemasonry in Loughborough , as , in addition to the proceedings in connection with the above chapter , of which a brief record is here given , a meeting of the Craft lodge was also held for the purpose of raising
the Most Hon . the Marquess of Granby , M . P ., particulars of the last-named ceremony appearing elsewhere in these pages . An exceedingl y large gathering of Royal Arch Masons , including a considerable 'contingent from Leicester , who journeyed down by rail in a saloon carriage , provided by the courteous Midland station-master , Comp . Michie , assembling to do honour to the Principals elect , especially to the
popular First Principal designate , Comp . J . H . Marshall , to whose Masonic zeal and abilities the success of this chapter , as well as of other Masonic bodies with which he is connected in the province , is largely due . Previous to opening the chanter , the companions were entertained at an elegant luncheon , on the invitation of Comp . Marshall , after which the special business of the
day was proceeded with , and the Principals duly installed , Comp . Marshall being inducted into the chair of Z ., Comp . R . L . Gibson into that of H ., and Comp . Carl Lowenstein as J . These very interesting and impressive ceremonies were perfectly rendered by Comp . VV . Vial , P . Z ., P . P . G . S . N . The other officers were then invested as follows : Comps . Corcoran , S . The brethren were then called off , and , on resuming duty , a ballot was taken for Bros . H . Pritchard , G . Cook , and H . Nugent , who were unanimously elected as joining members .
The VV . M . having risen for the first and second times , and a Master having been elected for the ensuing week , it was announced that the ceremony of passing would be rehearsed and an explanation of the tracing board given . The lodge was then closed , and a pleasant and instructive evening brought to a close .
