Bro . E . LETCHWORTH , G . Secretary , after the opening of the lodge , addressed the brethren , stating that he understood the petitioners were composed to a great extent of brethren who were engaged in the same commercial pursuits , and he could only express the hope that that new lodge might be the means of uniting them , if possible , more closely in the bonds of fraternal Jove , and accomplish all those special objects the fouide-s had in view , and be the means of advancing the best interests of
Freemasonry . Archdeacon STEVENS delivered an excellent oration , in which he divelt on the great progress of Freemasonry during the latter part of the present reign , not only in numbers , but in the deepening of the true spirit of the
Order . It now occupied a very different position to what it did in the past , for it was known far and wide that it had at heart the doing of giod , not only to members of the Order , but to society at large . It was a great power for good , and its aim was the diffusion of brotherly loire , relief , and truth .

Bro . Thomas Fenn was the chief one engaged in arranging the
meeting at the Albert Hall , and it was satisfactory to every one . The Prince of Wales was satisfied with it . He ( Bro . Bro . THOMAS I « . V , P . G . W ., in acknowledging the toast , said he thanked the W .
