Bro . E . LETCHWORTH , G . Secretary , after the opening of the lodge , addressed the brethren , stating that he understood the petitioners were composed to a great extent of brethren who were engaged in the same commercial pursuits , and he could only express the hope that that new lodge might be the means of uniting them , if possible , more closely in the bonds of fraternal Jove , and accomplish all those special objects the fouide-s had in view , and be the means of advancing the best interests of

Freemasonry . Archdeacon STEVENS delivered an excellent oration , in which he divelt on the great progress of Freemasonry during the latter part of the present reign , not only in numbers , but in the deepening of the true spirit of the

Order . It now occupied a very different position to what it did in the past , for it was known far and wide that it had at heart the doing of giod , not only to members of the Order , but to society at large . It was a great power for good , and its aim was the diffusion of brotherly loire , relief , and truth .

At the conclusion of the constitution of the lodge , Bro . Chi ? . H ibbir ' , P . M . 820 , was installed a-, W . M ., and Bro . Ciis . Webster , P . M . 1 S 04 , was appointed to act for the first year as I . P . M . ; Bros . John Sulley , S . VV . 1 S 04 , v . as invested as S . VV . ; Edwin Edwards , 279 , as J . W . ; R . I . G . ; John Goodfellow , 1716 , D . C ; John A . Ellerton , P . M . 1804 , O g . ; and Samuel Ellis , P . M ., Tyler . After the delivery of the addresses to the Master , Wardens , and brethren , a Committee was appointed to frame the by-laws of the lodge , and several gentlemen were proposed for initiation and joinin j . On the motion of the S . W ., seconded by the VV . M ., the Co : i ; ec : iti ig Officers were elected honorary members , and

Bro . LETCHWORTH , as the mouthpiece of those b-ethren , ackno vled'ed the compliment , and stated it had given them great pleasure to be present , and consecrate the lodge , to which he wished every success . A founder ' s jewel was then presented fo the Consecrating Officers .

Bro . THOMAS FENN thanked the VV . M . for the gift , and said th at he an I his brother Consecrating Officers would always wear it as . 1 memento of a very pleasant occasion . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to banquet , and subsequently honoured the usual toasts .

Bro . C . HUBBARD , W . M ., in proposing " Tim Queen and the Craft , " said so much had been said and done latel y with respect to the Oueen and her long reign , that it would be quite unnecessary for him to add anything to it . But whatever had been said and done , he was sure no greater loyalty was shown than by the Masons , and noone wished her M ijesty th 1 Massing of God to her and health and long life than Freemasons .

In proposing "The Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., " B-o . MUBIURD siid his Royal Highness showed his interest in Freemasonry at the Albert H ill on June 14 th , and all Masons were delighted to see him there . Bro . C . HUBBARD , VV . M ., in proposing "The M . W . Pro G . M ., the Earl of Lathom ; the Dep . G . M ., Kirl Amherst ; and the rest of the G .

Oflicers , Present and Past , " said , to show the brethren the usefulness of the Grand Oflicers , he might refer them to what they had seen and heard that night from Bro . Letchworth , the Consecrating Master , and the other Grand Officers , who had been kind enough to come and assist him in the beautiful ceremonies—not only beautiful ceremonies , but the excellent execution of them . Bro . Thomas Fenn was the chief one engaged in arranging the

meeting at the Albert Hall , and it was satisfactory to every one . The Prince of Wales was satisfied with it . He ( Bro . Hubbird ) felt overjoyed at the manner in which the consecration had been performed , and the kindness and courtesy of the Grand Officers not only that ni ght , but all the time he came across them since the warrant had been applied for , and he felt he could not thank the Grand Officers sufficiently .

Bro . THOMAS I « . V , P . G . W ., in acknowledging the toast , said he thanked the W . M . for enjoining on them short speeches , because that just suited him ; but he could not help referring to some words which fell from Archdeacon Stevens in his beautiful oration—the most itipressive he had ever heard , and that' was saying a great deal , for he had heard a great

many ; but in referring to the late Albert Hall meeting , B .-o . Stevens called attention to the Masonic principle , which was the foundation of all orderthat as some must rule and govern , others must submit and obey . No one knew how that principle was carried out in Masonry better than the Grand Officers , for they were all willing to undertake duties in connection wilh that great affair , and they , one and all , obeyed orders implicitly ,

withwithout question ; m fact , if they had not done sa it would hive been impossible to do the thing with success . This happened on that occasion , and again 10 years ago , and in 1875 , at the installation of the Prince . He ( Bro . Fenn ) had the management of the 18 75 meeting , and then he was but a small Grand Officer , he was only Asst . G . D . of C . There were Grand Officers much higher than he who obeyed orders most implicitly . He had in his pocket the direct appointment b y the Prince of Wales , but he was
