of those who were honouring them with their presence for the first time , he mi ght say it was divided into three parts—the educational , the benevolent , and the annuity branches . Thanks to the support and kindness they had always received , he was proud to say no approved candidate had gone away without relief . At the same time , the Mark Degree was increasing largely in numbers , and they were not at all sure the present state of affairs might

exist . They hoped it mi g ht for many a long year to come . All of them had this Charity at heart ! they all wished it success ; and while this friendly rivalry went on from year to year between successive Chairmen , it must benefit by the honest wish of these brethren each to do bette r than others .
