The Committee reported that the Priory Chapter , No . 1863 , Tynemouth , had ceased to meet ; they recommended that the chapter should be summoned to show cause why it should not be removed from the roll of chapters . The report , was signed by the President , Comp . Robert Grey , and the several recommendations were , on the motion of Comp . FRANK RICHARDSON , agreed to unanimously . There being no other business , Grand Chapter was closed .

The annual meeting of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held at the Jubilee Hall , Aldeburgh , on Monday , the 29 th ult ., under the banner ot the Adair Lodge , No . 936 . The report of the Board of General Purposes showed that there had been a marked improvement in the numerical strength of the Order , there having been an increase of 59 initiations and 19 joinings , as against 55 initiations and 20 joinings last year ,, whilst the losses had been 34 resignations , 19 by death , and nine exclusions , against resignations 36 , deaths 22 , and exclusions 22 last year , resulting in a gain of 16 members , bringing the
numbers in the province to 11101 , as against 9 S 5 in the last report . The financial state was apparently not so favourable , as , after providing for the liabilities , which u ere rather heavier this year , there remained a balance of ^ 83 , as against . £ 87 . But as the fees of honour of this year had not been taken into account , and as they amounted to about ^ , 21 , the result was really more favourable .
I he report was adopted . The Suffolk Masonic Charity Association ' s report stated that for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , held in February , there were nine Stewards , whose lists amounted to ^ 655 17 s . ; for the Koyal Masonic
Institution for Girls , held in May , the lists of three Stewards amounted to ^ ' 125 9 s . Cd . ; and for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , held in June , the lists of two Stewards amounted to , £ 59 17 s ., making a total to the three Institutions during the year of ^ 841 35 . 63 . The report was adopted .
The brethren afterwards marched in procession to the church of SS . Peter and Paul , where Divine service was conducted , Bro . the Rev . H . S . Hume preaching a brief but eloquent sermon , based upon "Charity , " Bro . theRev . J . Manners Smith reading the lessons . Bro . T . Palmer , Mus . Bac , P . P . G . O ., presided at the organ .
Upon the resumption of the lodge , the PROV . GRAND MASTER briefly addressed the brethren , congratulating the province upon its strength . Subsequently the usual banquet , which was excellently served , was held at the Brudenell Hotel . The Deputy Prov . Grand Master , Bro . Rev . C . J . Martyn , presided . " The Queen and the Craft" and " The M . W . G . M ., H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , " were given from the chair and heartily received .
The toast of " The Pro G . M ., the Right Hon . the Earl of Lathom , the Deputy G . M ., the Right Hon the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe , and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " was also given from the chair , and responded to by Bro . Tnos . J . RALLING , Prov . G . Sec . of Essex . The CHAIRMAN , in proposing " The Health of the R . W . Prov . G . M ., the Right Hon . Lord Henniker , " said it was now some years since his
lordship had presided over them , and the grace and dignity with which he had presided over them that day he felt sure would commend itself to all Masons . But it was not only in Masonry that Lord Henniker took a personal interest , for it was well known that he also took a leading part in all county matters , and it was with the greatest pleasure that he gave the toast of the Prov . Grand Master .
The toast was received with full Masonic honours . The toast of "Thc R . W . D . P . G . M ., the Rev . C . J . Martyn , " was also warmly received , and Bro . Rev . C . J . MARTIN , in responding , said it was an immense pleasure to be with them all that day , and although he was now parted from them by some 200 miles , he could assure them that Suffolk would always command his services , and whenever he could come among-it
them he would . In concluding an eloquent speech , Bro . Martyn said they could congratulate themselves on the progress th it Masonry had made in the province during the past year , and he hoped that the 1001 brethren now comprising the province would strive to do their utmost to maintain the great principles of the Craft , and he had no fear that the Province of Suffolk would not continue to prosper .

Ebbw Vale was the scene of great Masonic enthusiasm on Thursday , lhe 1 st instant . In the lirst place , a new lodge was consecrated by the style and title of the Glyn Ebbw Lodge , No . 2556 , and when that important function had been carried out , the W . M . installed in the chair of K . S ., and the officers for the ensuing year appointed and invested , the annual meeting of
the Provincial Grand Lodge of Monmouthshire was held under the presidency of its respected chief , Bro . Col . Lyne , who was supported b y his Deputy , Bro . Lieut .-Col . C . R . Lyne , the officers , Present and Past , of his Provincial Grand Lodge , and the representatives of the lodges on the provincial roll .

The toast of " The Pro G . M ., the Right Hon . the Earl of Lathom , the Deputy G . M ., the Right Hon the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe , and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " was also given from the chair , and responded to by Bro . Tnos . J . RALLING , Prov . G . Sec . of Essex . The CHAIRMAN , in proposing " The Health of the R . W . Prov . G . M ., the Right Hon . Lord Henniker , " said it was now some years since his
lordship had presided over them , and the grace and dignity with which he had presided over them that day he felt sure would commend itself to all Masons . But it was not only in Masonry that Lord Henniker took a personal interest , for it was well known that he also took a leading part in all county matters , and it was with the greatest pleasure that he gave the toast of the Prov . Grand Master .
The toast was received with full Masonic honours . The toast of "Thc R . W . D . P . G . M ., the Rev . C . J . Martyn , " was also warmly received , and Bro . Rev . C . J . MARTIN , in responding , said it was an immense pleasure to be with them all that day , and although he was now parted from them by some 200 miles , he could assure them that Suffolk would always command his services , and whenever he could come among-it
them he would . In concluding an eloquent speech , Bro . Martyn said they could congratulate themselves on the progress th it Masonry had made in the province during the past year , and he hoped that the 1001 brethren now comprising the province would strive to do their utmost to maintain the great principles of the Craft , and he had no fear that the Province of Suffolk would not continue to prosper .

W . ; "The Masonic Charities , " replied to by Bro . J . M . MCLEOD , Sec . R . M . B . I . for Boys ; "The Visiting Brethren , " and "The Worshipful Masters of Lodges in the Province . "
It is worthy of note that the only two brethren present at the Provincial Grand Lodge at Aldeburgh in 1870 who were also present in 1 S 95 , wer « Bros . J . Taylor and J . L . Woodard .

Ebbw Vale was the scene of great Masonic enthusiasm on Thursday , lhe 1 st instant . In the lirst place , a new lodge was consecrated by the style and title of the Glyn Ebbw Lodge , No . 2556 , and when that important function had been carried out , the W . M . installed in the chair of K . S ., and the officers for the ensuing year appointed and invested , the annual meeting of
the Provincial Grand Lodge of Monmouthshire was held under the presidency of its respected chief , Bro . Col . Lyne , who was supported b y his Deputy , Bro . Lieut .-Col . C . R . Lyne , the officers , Present and Past , of his Provincial Grand Lodge , and the representatives of the lodges on the provincial roll .
