, The high reputation of Comp . Spinks as a Master in the Craft and in the Mark , would now be supplemented by that of Z . of a chapter , and he felt sure they were all proud of him and his work . He asked them to show their appreciation by drinking his health with all their hearts . Comp . Spinks , in response , said that when nine months ago he was installed in the chair of Z . of the chapter , he

Promised the companions that he would do all in his power to promote efficiency , and to practice economy . If he had not succeeded in promoting efficiency it was not his fault , because before every regular meeting of the chapter he "ad called the officers together lor a rehearsal of the ceremony of exaltaiion , and they answered that call with the result thatso far as in them lay the woiking in the

, chapter was all that could be desired . He would not say m « e than that of himself , but the chapter might well be proud of their Second and Third Principles , and indeed , of all the officers for the perfect manner in which they performed their duties . With regard to the economywell .

He had , he trusted , fulfilled the promises made at his installation , and felt sure that he would leave the chair with the good wishes and good feeling of every member of the chapter . Cnmp . to the chair of such a grand old chapter , which , after an an existence of over 60 years , still held its lustre undimished , and he trusted that it wnuld lose uone of its lustre under his direction . Several other toasts followed , and the intervals were filled up by some excellent sining and reciting .
