The toast of " The Past Masters " vvas responded to in suitable terms by Bro . J . E . Shand , P . M ., Sec .,- and Bro . J . A . Hammond , P . M ., Treas ., responded to the toast of "The Secretary and Treasurer" in a humorous speech . The toast of "The Officers of the Lodge" was duly proposed , and responded to by the Senior and Junior

Wardens . The Tyler ' s toast was next given , which brought a most pleasant ar . d successful meeting to a close . The proceedings of the evening vvere enlivened by some first-class music performed by Bros . Kift , H . Tinney , Bolt , and a most meritorious performance on the violin by Master Saunders .

Adolph Weil , and G . H . Kenning . The minutes of the meeting held on the 3 rd Oct . vvere read and confirmed . Bro . Adolph Weil , vvho had been initiated at the previous meeting , and Bro . G . H . Kenning , who had taken his First Degree in the Peace and Harmony Lodge . No . 60 , were passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft . A ballot was then

taken for the W . M . for the ensuing year , and the S . W ., Bro . H . H . Wells , vvas unanimously elected . Bro . H . S . Legg vvas also re-elected Treasurer . Bro . Goddard was re-elected Tyler . The lodge vvas then closed , and the brethren sat down to an excellent banquet . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts

were proposed and duly honoured , that of "The Visitors being responded to by Bro . G . H . Kenning , who thanked the W . M . for the honour he had done him by conferring on him the Second Degree . Several excellent songs and recitations were given by Bros . H . H . Wells , F . W . Harris , and G . H . Kenning , and a very p ' easant evening was spent .

this lodge ) , in the death of his wife , and moved that a vote of condolence be sent to the noble and distinguished brother . This vvas seconded by Bro . Molesworth , P . M ., and carried . Subsequently two brethren were passed to the Second Degree in an admirable manner by the W . M ., and the S . W . delivered the lecture on the Second Tracing Board .

ARUNDEL .-Howard of Brotherly Love Lodge ( No . 56 ) . —The installation of the W . M . of this lodge was held at the Town Hall , on Thursday , the 17 th ult .. and Bro . Dr . The installation banquet vvas fixed for the evening of the 19 th inst ., immediately after the installation . This comprised the business , and the lodge was then closed . The brethren retired to the banquet room of the lodge and spent the remainder of the evening in a social

Mugford , as W . M . during the ensuing twelve months , on acount of his geniality and courtesy with all the brethren . He has filled all the various offices in the lodge vvith credit , and is in every way competent to discharge the duties of his forthcoming high and important office .

which proved favourable , and this gentleman vvas duly admitted to the mysteries of thc Craft . All these ceremonies were carefully rendered by the VV . M . During his tenure of office there has been plenty of work in the Iodge , and this is in a great measure attributable to the knowledge the brethren possess of Bro . W . C . Williams ' s

determination and ability to perform the various ceremonies in such a manner as to afford much instruction to all , while , at the same time , making a lasting impression on the minds of the candidates . The lodge being closed , the brethren adjourned to substantial refreshment , and a very enjoyable evening was spent under the presidency of the indefatigable W . M .

OAKHAM . —Vale of Catmos Lodge ( No . 1265 ) —The annual festival of the above lodge was celebrated on Wednesday , the 30 th ult ., when there was an exceedingly large attendance of the brethren from various parts of the Province ( Leicestershire and Rutland ) , to witness the installation of Bro . T . Coltman , F . C . A ., the esteemed borough accountant to the Corporation of Leicester

the S . VV . for the past year and the W . M . elect . The Tyler's book received the signatures of about 70 members , including those of nearly 30 P . M . 's , and representatives of every lodge in the province , such a gathering as vve imagine has rarely , if ever before , been seen at this lodge of the quaint little old Rutland town . The meeting on this occasion vvas held at the Agricultural Hall , which will in future be the place of
