The London Correspondent of the Western Morning News says : "Many are the vicissitudes of wellknown buildings . The home of the old Whittington Club , next to the Illustrated London News office in Norfolkstreet , Strand , has seen many changes since its ballroom was so famous among the men about town . For the time it was known as the Temple Club . It is now to become a
newspaper office . The floor upon which the lights of the ballroom once twinkled will now be occupied by compositors cases . It is being turned into the office of the Conservative journal , The People . The People was started at the very beginning of the Conservative reaction in London . It has
been in existence for only six years , and has now a circulation of a quarter of a million . The company which started it is in liquidation , not because the journal has failed , but because it has been such a success . It is , I believe , the first Conservative weekly paper that has ever really paid at the price of a penny . "

The 7 th International Sportsmans' Exhibition and the Kennel Club ' s 30 th Show- of Sporting and other Dogs vvas opened at the Royal Agricultural Hall , Islington , on Thursday , and will remain open till Saturday next , the 18 th inst . There is , as usual , an admirable display of
everything connected with sports , and it is needless to say that the exhibits at the Kennel ( lub Show are quite up to the mark cf past years , both as regards quality and number . Bro . H . Etheiington is the Manager and Secretary , by whom those vvho need any information will be most courteously received .
Visitors to the Sportsmans' Exhibition , now open at the Royal Agricultural Hall , Islington , will , no doubt , have their attention attracted to a very ingenious and useful navelty in the shape of anew kind of "Honeycomb " Wine Bin , vvhich has been invented and patented by Messrs , King and Smith , of the Stowe Works , Weedon . The exhibit is at Stand No . 47 facing the Upper-street entrance ,
, and a very slight glance at its construction will show that , it possesses the qualities of simplicity , and cheapness vvhich are claimed for it by its inventors . It vvas favourably spoken of at the Brewers' Exhibition last year , and the more it is seen and understood , the more highly will it be appreciated . We commend it to the attention of our readers who may visit the Exhibition .
