In a recent number of the Freemason the Rothesay Lodge was given as meeeting at the Criterion . This is an error ; if has been accommodated very satisfactorily for some time at the " Frascati , " in Oxford-street , and was the first lodge , we believe , to occupy the pretty Masonic Temple at that well-known restaurant .

GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC—The greater portion of the musical library of the late Bro . Sir W . Cusins , one of the professors of the Guildhall School of Music , has recently been presented by Lady Cusins to the School . The Music Committee have , of course , accepted the gilt
with much gratification , as the collection is a very valuable one . Amongst other works , it consists of a complete edition of Handel ' s works , the band and chorus parts of the " Messiah , " and the scores and band pa ts of his overtures , "Love ' s Labour Lost" and " Les Travailleurs de la Mer . " The collection includes about 200 volumes .
A testimonial is being organi'ed to the well-known pianist and teacher , Bro . William Kuhe , on the occasion of his 70 th birthday next month . The idea first took shape in Brighton , where for upwards of 40 years he resided , and where for 10 years , between 1 S 70 and 1880 , he carried on the Musical Festivals , which , although they did not bring much profit to himself , gave to the world so many choral and other novel , ties by British and foreign composers . at Prague on December 10 th , 1023 , ana nrst came to London in 1845 . In the following year he returned to accompany Jenny Lind on tour as pianist , and in 1847 he settled down in Brighton , giving his first concert in that year at the Newburgh Rooms . He annually during the season visited London , where he has a large connection as a teacher , and about three years since he took up his permanent residence here .

The Duke of Edinburgh—Duke Alfred of Saxe Coburg-Gotha—left Clarence House on Monday for Sandringham on a visit to the Prince and Princess of Wales , while the Duke and Duchess of York are at York Lodge , Sandringham , having returned thither from their visit to the Duke and Duchess of Teck at White Lodge , Richmond .
On Monday the Duchess of Teck visited Bow for the purpose of laying the foundation-stone of the new Sunday schools in connection with St . Stephen ' s Church , Saxonroad . Her Royal Highness afterwards received purses in aid of the building fund . The Duke was unable to attend owing to his being laid up with a somewhat severe attack of measles .

Each caniue professor manipulates bis individual instrument in a manner worthy a maestro . A string quartet , drums , cymbals , and trombone are included in this little orchestra , which discourses elaborate selections from Ops of Wag-net and other celebrated composers .

The Prince of Wales inaugurated on Saturday last the new recreation and reading rooms which his Royal Hi g hness has had erected for the parish of Wolferton . 1 he building contains a large room suitable for concerts , lectures , dinners , balls , and similar entertainments , and is intended to answer the same social purposes as the Working Mens ' Club at Sandringham . The eminent physician , Sir Andrew Clark , Bart ., M . P ., who only completed his 67 th year on the 27 th ult ., died at his residence , 16 , Cavendish-square , on Monday afternoon , after a little more than a fortnight ' s illness , from which , lid a relapse occurred on Friday last , there appeared to be

Her Majesty ' s Staghounds met at Gerrard ' s Cross , some 16 miles from Ascot Kennels , on Tuesday , when there was a capital run through the South Bucks country to Beaconsfield , and thence through Wilton Park to Netherlands Wood .
Messrs . Spiers and Pond , who have established a magnificent restaurant on English lines in Paris , were , it appears , somewhat exercised in mind as to what Scotch whiskey they should present to the critical taste of the Parisians , or perhaps more properly speaking , what brand should be used in educating their taste . It must be very gratifying to the famous whiskey firm of Messrs . John Robertson and Sons , of Dundee , to find that the choice fell on them and that this noted brand is the only one obtainable at the new restaurant .
Contracts have just been let for the erection of Masonic lodge buildings in Ropergate , Pontefract . The buildings are to be built of brick , with terra-cotta panels and stone facings . On the upper story will be a lodge room , 34 ft . by 21 ft ., with ante-rooms adjoining , and downstairs will be a
dining-hall , 51 ft . by 21 ft ., which may also be used for ballroom , and will be fitted with moveable partitions to make it into three small rooms for other purposes . A caretaker ' s house will be attached . Mr . J . H . Greaves , of Pontefract , is the architect . The cost will be £ 1000 .

GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC—The greater portion of the musical library of the late Bro . Sir W . Cusins , one of the professors of the Guildhall School of Music , has recently been presented by Lady Cusins to the School . The Music Committee have , of course , accepted the gilt
with much gratification , as the collection is a very valuable one . Amongst other works , it consists of a complete edition of Handel ' s works , the band and chorus parts of the " Messiah , " and the scores and band pa ts of his overtures , "Love ' s Labour Lost" and " Les Travailleurs de la Mer . " The collection includes about 200 volumes .
A testimonial is being organi'ed to the well-known pianist and teacher , Bro . William Kuhe , on the occasion of his 70 th birthday next month . The idea first took shape in Brighton , where for upwards of 40 years he resided , and where for 10 years , between 1 S 70 and 1880 , he carried on the Musical Festivals , which , although they did not bring much profit to himself , gave to the world so many choral and other novel , ties by British and foreign composers . Bro . Kuhe was born
at Prague on December 10 th , 1023 , ana nrst came to London in 1845 . In the following year he returned to accompany Jenny Lind on tour as pianist , and in 1847 he settled down in Brighton , giving his first concert in that year at the Newburgh Rooms . He annually during the season visited London , where he has a large connection as a teacher , and about three years since he took up his permanent residence here .
