regular in their attendance during the preceding 12 months , and proved in favour of Bro . Bo ) ce , and was placed by him upon the list of Bro . Francis , Steward for the Lodge of Unity , No . 183 , at the Centenary Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls . Bro . H . M . Williams bade an affectionate farewell to the brethren previous to his departure to Australia , and spoke of the Masonic knowledge he had obtained in this lodge of instruction , of which he was a founder , and of the many social evenings and pleasing

acquaintances it had been the means of his gaming . The W . M . having paid a warm tribute to the services of Bro . Williams as the first Secretary , and , on behalf of the members , wished him " God speed . " trusting that all present would , at some future time , be able to greet him on his return to the old country . The lodge was then closed . Bro . Francis then presided over the usual monthly meeting of the Benevolent Association , and , sufficient funds befog in hand , ballots were taken for four sums of £ 'S 5 s . eacn , to be paid to the

Masonic Institutions . All of which sums were ordered to be paid to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , on the lists of Bros . Francis and Hooper , the latter being Steward for iSSS for the Honor Oak Lodge , No . 19 86 . It is well worthy of record , that although this Association has only been in existence about four years , it has been the means of collecting and paying to the Masonic Institutions' upwards of 650 guineas , ' ihe President , Bro . Francis , the energetic Secretary , Bro . Hooper , and in fact all the members may be heartily congratulated on the success of their united efforts in the great cause o ' f Masonic Charity .

Z ., then proposed a vote of thanks to be entered on the minutes to Comp . J . Terry , P . G . Swd . Br ., for his valuable services rendered to the chaptes in installing the Principals , carried unanimovsly . Comp . I . Terry thanked the

companions in a very affable speech , saying this was the ninth year he had installed the Principals in this chapter , and hoped it would be many years belore he should sever his connection with them , for they had done good suit and service 10 the Charities . Comp . Ferguson , P . Z ., then offered himself as Steward for the next Festival of the R . M . B . I ., and hoped the companions would subscribe

liberally tohis list . Bro . F . VV . Hadden , 1744 , and Bro . A . Swerzl , 435 , were then exalted into Royal Arch Masonry in a most admirable manner by the M . E . Z ., ably assisted by his officers . The chapter was then closed , and the M . E . Z . presided at the banquet table .

Williams bade an affectionate farewell to the brethren previous to his departure to Australia , and spoke of the Masonic knowledge he had obtained in this lodge of instruction , of which he was a founder , and of the many social evenings and pleasing

acquaintances it had been the means of his gaming . The W . M . having paid a warm tribute to the services of Bro . Williams as the first Secretary , and , on behalf of the members , wished him " God speed . " trusting that all present would , at some future time , be able to greet him on his return to the old country . The lodge was then closed . Bro . Francis then presided over the usual monthly meeting of the Benevolent Association , and , sufficient funds befog in hand , ballots were taken for four sums of £ 'S 5 s . eacn , to be paid to the

Masonic Institutions . All of which sums were ordered to be paid to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , on the lists of Bros . Francis and Hooper , the latter being Steward for iSSS for the Honor Oak Lodge , No . 19 86 . It is well worthy of record , that although this Association has only been in existence about four years , it has been the means of collecting and paying to the Masonic Institutions' upwards of 650 guineas , ' ihe President , Bro . Francis , the energetic Secretary , Bro . Hooper , and in fact all the members may be heartily congratulated on the success of their united efforts in the great cause o ' f Masonic Charity .

Z ., then proposed a vote of thanks to be entered on the minutes to Comp . J . Terry , P . G . Swd . Br ., for his valuable services rendered to the chaptes in installing the Principals , carried unanimovsly . Comp . I . Terry thanked the

companions in a very affable speech , saying this was the ninth year he had installed the Principals in this chapter , and hoped it would be many years belore he should sever his connection with them , for they had done good suit and service 10 the Charities . Comp . Ferguson , P . Z ., then offered himself as Steward for the next Festival of the R . M . B . I ., and hoped the companions would subscribe

liberally tohis list . Bro . F . VV . Hadden , 1744 , and Bro . A . Swerzl , 435 , were then exalted into Royal Arch Masonry in a most admirable manner by the M . E . Z ., ably assisted by his officers . The chapter was then closed , and the M . E . Z . presided at the banquet table .

"The Health of the M . E . Z . " was proposed by Comp , Fulhvood , I . P . Z ., and received a very hearty response . The usual toast list was gone through , and some excellent singing was listened to by the companions from Comp . Sylvester , R . W . Fraser , Uimsdaleand others , Comp . Day , a visitor , kindly presided at the pianoforte .

BURNLEY . —Chapter of Nativity ( No . 126 ) . — The installation meeting of this old chapter was held at the Bull Hotel , on Wednesday , the 2 nd inst . Present : Comps . The chapter was declared open , and the minutes of the last convocation were read and confirmed . The ceremony of exaltation was rehearsed , Comp . March being the candidate . Comp . Nicols promised to give the interesting traditional account of the life of Nehemiah at the next meeting . The officers were elected for the ensuing fortnight—Comp . Dean M . E . Z . Comp . Vowler thanked the companions for their kindness to him during his stay in London , and wished them farewell on obtaining an appointment in Canterbury .
