Barns , W . M . j Middleweek , S . W . ; Windeatt . J . W . ; J . Piller , P . M ., P . G . Std . Br ., Treas . ; Warner , P . M ., P . P . A . G . D . C , Sec ; Miiller , S . D . j R .

W . Forge , P . M ., P . P . G . D . C ; Capt . T . C Walls , P . M ., P . P . G . W ., Stwd . ; W . J . Porter , P . M . ; and Finch , P . M ., P . P . G . S . of W . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , a resolution was passed as to the exclusion of several members . A vote of condolence to Bro . A . J . R . Simmonds , I . P . M ., on the loss recently sustained by him

through the death of his mother was passed , and ordered to be recorded on the minutes and a copy sent to him . Apologies for non-attendance were received from Bros . Ruffel ' l , J . D . ; F . Chandler , P . M . 1 C 56 , P . P . G . P ., I . G . ; A . J . R . Simmonds , P . M . ; and others . Bro . Capt . Walls gave a notice of motion that a sum of money be voted from the lodge funds towards the Raymond Thrupp Testimonial

Fund . Previously to the lodge being closed , the W . M . called the attention of the brethren to the fact that he represented the lodge as Steward at the Jubilee Festival of the R . M . B . I . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment . A few toasts were given , and the brethren separated at an early hour .

TUNBRIDGE WELLS . Pantiles Lodge ( No . 2200 ) . —There was a large gathering of brethren at the monthly meeting of the above lodge on Wednesday evening , the 2 nd inst ., at the Pump Room , Bro . A . G . Boscawen being amongst the visitors . Bro . Nicholas Grunwell , W . M ., occupied the chair . Bro . Edward Owen Howis having been passed ,

Messrs . Albert H . Millican , F . L . Williams , and Frank Tupper were initiated , and two candidates for initiation were balloted for and approved . During the proceedings Bro . Rufus Stevenson , P . M ., Sec , produced a very handsomely-illuminated scroll , which he handed to the W . M . to present to Bro . Ryder , I . P . M . In doing so , he said that up to the time of the visit of the Provincial Grand Lodge

the Pantiles Lodge had not been able to boast of a banner . Bro . Ryder , to whom the lodge owed so much , however , with his usual liberality , stepped to the rescue , and presented them with the really handsome banner which now adorned the lodge room . He might say that Bro . Ryder had raised the lodge in a remarkable degree , and its present flourishing condition , both in

members and funds was to a very great extent attributable to his zeal , ability , and exertions . The officers of the lodge had , therefore , felt they should not allow the opportunity to pass without presenting Bro . Ryder with something to mark their appreciation of his kindness . He then read the scroll , which was handsomely framed in oak and deep gold . In the centre was the banner of the lodge , around were

Masonic emblems , beautifully illuminated . The address : "To Bro . Tom Ryder , Immediate Past Master , —On behalf of the Officers and Brethren , we desire to thank you for the very handsome banner so kindly presented to the lodge . The occasion of its first use will ever be remembered by the members of the lodge , and as a permanent ornament will be thoroughly appreciated . It will remind

the brethren not only of the Provincial Lodge Festival , but also of your year of Mastership , wherein under your benign influence the sacred duties of tbe mystic arts and sciences were cultivated , and the bond of fraternal regard and brotherly love reciprocated . Nicolas Grunwell , W . M . ; Josiah Willmot , S . W . ; Benjamin J . C . Colls , J . W . ; Thos . Potter , Treasurer ; and Rufus Stephenson , Secretary .

Tunbridge Wells , November , 1 S 91 . lheW . M . inhanding the scroll to Bro . Ryder hoped he would appreciate it , and hang it in his front room , so that he may have many pleasant recollections of the Pantiles Lodge . He also bore testimony to the zeal and ability shown by Bro . Ryder during the time he had been connected with the lodge . Bro . Ryder , in accepting the scroll , said he had been taken

altogether by surprise . He could assure them the address should be hung in that front room with which most of the members were familiar , for at the starting of the lodge ' numbers of informal meetings were held there . He hoped they had still pleasant recollections of that front room . He was pleased to know that the lodge had made great

progress , and he hoped to see it the leading lodge not only of the town but the county . He was pleased to know that the working of the lodge had always gained the encomiums of visiting brethren , and he considered it a great honour that one of their Past Masters had been selected for the important ollice of Grand Senior Warden of the Province of Kent .
