Bro . Lord George Hamilton in responding on behalf of "The Grand Officers , " alluded to the fact that it was through his being received into that lodge , that the honours lie had succeeded to were given him . He regretted and was surprised to find when he accepted the post of Grand Master of . Middlesex , that the Chiswick Lodge , being within the radius , was not attached to his province . He had not been able to attend as often as he should have liked , but
then they all knew how very little time he , like many other Masons who happened to be M . P . ' s , had at their disposal ; they might rely upon him at all times to assist them in anything he could do for the lodge , and hoped , before long , they might have additions from that lodge to swell the ranks of Grand Lodge . " The Health of the Installing Officers " was responded to by Bro . George Everctr , P . G . Treas ., thanking the
brethren for the kind way in which they always received him , and paying a high tribute of praise to the indefatigable Secretary , Bro . George Gardner , who had nearly the whole of the work of the lodge to discharge . The W . M ., responding to the toast of his health , hoped that they would lind in him one who intended to do his
utmost _ to discharge the duties of the high office he was placed in , and thanked them for the kind manner they had drank his heilth . He then proposed " The Initiate , " and said they were particularly pleased to welcome Bro . Hiscocks ; hc was sure from the way he had attended to the ceremony ^ they had in him a worthy member of the Craft .
Bro . Hiscocks having responded , ''"lie W . M . gave the toast of " The Visitors , " remarking that though ( here were a goodly number , there was not so many as would have been , but for the bad weather . This was re-ponded to by Bro . C . P . Bellerby , A . Duck , Glhoma
. * - * , and others , who all testified to the excellence ol the work , and the great hospitality they had received , wishing the lodge a I lappy and Prosperous New Vear . lhe W . AL then gave " The Treasurer and Sccielary , " speaking of both these ollicers as being everything anv udge could desire .

Bro . Lawrance then told the brethren that the lodge was in a very prosperous state , end he hoped to discharge the duties of his o / lice as he had hitherto dme , which seemed to give satisfaction to the brethren . Bro . George Gardner said that this was th " . seventh W . AI . who had appoint-d him to the office of Secretary , and he had ( being the founder of the lodge ) its welfare
and interest at heart , and he had always worked his hardest for its success ; he thanked Bro . Everett for the kindly manner he ha I spoken of him , and hoped to be able to discharge the duties of Secretary , and assist the VV . M . in every possible way he could . At the same time he must say that he must endeavour to confine his work to that of Secretary as he found it too much for him to be of
general utility , seeing he belonged t > several other ledges , & c , in all of which he held office . He thanked them one and all for the kind way they had drank his health , and holed to be with them for a long time 11 come . The toast of "The Past Masters" followed , and was responded to by Bro . R . Wimpey , saying he hoped the whole of the Past Masters would appear as they had that night
ready and willing to assist with advice , or to help in any of the work of the lodge . The Officers' and Tyler ' s toast followed , which brought the proceedings to a close . Br ., and the latter by the W . M ., the working tools being explained by Bro . Samuel Robinson , J . W ., and the charge in the First Degree delivered by Bro . S . A . Bailey , P . M ., Treasurer . Apologies were tendered for the unavoidable absence of
several brethren . Two gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meeting , and alter " Hearty good wishes " from the visiting brethren , the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts had been duly honoured , "The Initiates" were toasted , which was followed according to ancient custom by the Entered

He was glad to see the progress that had been made , as he was informed the lodge had now 40 members ;; the manner in which thc ceremonies had been rendered that evening was very
creditable tothe lodge . Bro . Mitcheson , P . I le concluded by inviting thc brethren to pay a fraternal visit to lodge 25 S at Heckmondwike . The toast of "The W . M . " was proposed by Bro . J . VV . Nicholson , P . AI . 1034 , P . P . G . general utility , seeing he belonged t > several other ledges , & c , in all of which he held office . He thanked them one and all for the kind way they had drank his health , and holed to be with them for a long time 11 come . The toast of "The Past Masters" followed , and was responded to by Bro .
