There was a tolerably good attendance of members , amongst whom maybe especially mentioned Bro . T . Poore , P . M . 720 , & c , the father of the W . M . elect . Amongst the numerous visitors who signed the register of attendance were Bros . A . R . Powles , W . M . 1901 ; W . Lucas , W . M . 1669 ; J . Stevens , P . M .

Apologies for absence were received from Bros . Horace

B . Marshall , P . M ., P . G . Treas . ; John Read , P . M ., Org ., and several other brethren . The previous meeting having been confirmed , ballots were taken for the admission of Mr . J . Bott and Mr . I . White into the Order , and approval having been given , those gentlemen were introduced and initiated in due course . The report of the Audit Committee having been received and adopted , Bros . R . Poore was presented to the outgoing Master by Bro . James Stevens ,

who , at the W . M . ' s request , acted as D . C . during the installation . The necessary Board having been constituted , Bro . Baldwin very ably installed his successor into the chair of K . S . The customary salutations in the respective degrees were then given , and the following were appointed and , where present , invested as officers for the ensuing year : Bros . VV . Day , S . W . ; C- J . Axford , J . W . ; VV . Kirkland , Treas . ; H . Lovegrove , P . M ., & c , Sec ; E .

Newby , S . D . ; A . Albert , J . D . ; John Read , P . M ., Org . ; R . Evans , I . G . ; A . Jones , D . C ; C . J . Dore , J . D . Sprague , and W . R . Palmer , Stwds . ; and Robert Potter , Tyler . The addresses to W . M ., Wardens , and brethren were admirably delivered by Bro . T . Poore , P . M ., with all that perfect diction and expression for which that veteran Preceptor is so eminently distinguished . A handsome P . M . 's jeweland collar having been presented toT 3 ro .

Baldwin , I . P . M ., by the W . M . in earnest terms of praise and sa isfaction with his services during the past year , and which were suitably acknowledged by the recipient , the lodge was closed , and the meeting adjourned to banquet . An admirable menu was provided by the caterer , Mr . Ingles , of Bell Yard , Temple Bar , and ample justice was done by the company in appreciation of the quality of the viands and wines set before them . The service was

somewhat lengthy , but considering surrounding circumstances not altogether unavoidable . The time at the disposal of the W . M . for the effectual carrying out of the toast list was consequently considerably shortened , and necessitated brevity in speech , both in proposition and response . Of the principal toasts , that of " The Worshipful Master , " proposed by Bro . Baldwin , I . P . M ., met with a cordial reception , the proposer being most happy in his remarks on

the Masonic progress and qualities of Bro . Poore , attributing , very truly , much of that progress to his being a lewis of so able a teacher and director as his father , Bro . Thos . Poore . He ( Bro . Baldwin ) might look upon himself as Bro . Poore's Masonic father , having initiated him into Freemasonry , but no efforts of hiscould have had the result to which the able tuition of thc W . M . 's natural father had so materially contributed .

In brief terms the Worshipful Master responded , and expressed the hope that his ruling of the lodge during the ensuing year would justify the kind expression of feeling which his introduction into the pleasures and obligations of Mastership had elicited . Bros . John Bott and Isaac White , as the Initiates of the evening , were complimented by the W . M . on the attention they _ had respectively paid to the ceremony of their introduction into Freemasonry ,

and the Entered Apprentice song having been rendered by Bro . James Stevens , they severally acknowledged their gratification at becoming members of the Order , and promised loyalty and devotion to its tenets . The visitors were one and all named , and each received a token of welcome . Bros . Powles , W . M . Selwyn Lodge , Lucas , W . M . Royal Leopold Lodge , James Stevens , P . M ., and J . W . Watts ,

P . M ., acknowledged for themselves and the non-speakers amongst the guests their appreciation of the entire proceedings of the evening , and the two latter more especially expressed the pleasure with which they had observed the presence of the W . M . 's father at his installation . This reference was very feelingly acknowledged by Bro . Thos . Poore , and his remarks were sympathetically received . Bro . Henry Lovegrove on , rising to respond for " The

Past Masters , " and also in his official capacity as Secretary , was greeted with earnest marks of approval , and his observations on the progress and present prospects of the lodge gave considerable satisfaction . In thc course of the evening some excellent pianoforte and vocal music added to the general entertainment of the

company , Bros . Cranch , Wallis , Lee , Stevens , and others taking part therein ; and at a somewhat late hour , yet still before the " witching hour of night , " the call to remember the " poor and distressed" was sounded , and amidst general congratulations on the success of this installation meeting the brethren separated .

DRURY LANE LODGE ( No . 2127 ) . —The first regular meeting was held in the Masonic Hall , Dru ^ y Lane ThcUre , on Tuesday , the 9 th inst . The lodge was opened by Bro . Lord I . ondesborough , P . The minutes of the last meeting were read and verified , and the bye-laws , which had been agreed toby thc founders , were read , and ordered to be received and adopted . H . thc Princess , and who readily responded to his appeal . _ He feelingly referred to a visit made by him to the Province of Norfolk many years ago , and for the kindness then received he had thc Province of Norfolk and their claims to the Masonic Charities much at

heart . He would ever be ready at any future time they required his services to render what assistance was in his power . He congratulated the W . Amongst the numerous visitors who signed the register of attendance were Bros . A . R . Powles , W . M . 1901 ; W . Lucas , W . M . 1669 ; J . Stevens , P . M .
