Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

kind in the extreme . I myself had the honour to be the wuest of Bro . Hughan , but lis extended his welcome to Bros . Cooper and Bailey , and Bro . Chapman entertained us all . Nothing could exceed the heartiness , the genuineness of the reception given us j and I am sure I am only speaking the sentiments of those who accompanied me when I say it was a visit we shall remember as one of the

happiest spent away from home . Bro . Greenham proposed a vote of thanks to Bro . Chapman for his gifts , and trusted the VV . M . would allow the Secretary to convey at the same time an appreciative acknowledgment of the reception g iven to Bros . Cooper and Bailey as representing Chine Lodge on the occasion . The VV . M ., Bro . A . F . Swayne , said : Brethren , —You

have heard me read the very kind letter I received from Bro . Chapman , and you no . v see before you the two p ictures alluded to , which Bro . Greenham , in his usual eloquent manner , has presented to us on behalf of Bro . Chapman . As Master of Chine Lodge I am truly grateful fcr the cordial support I am receiving from all the brethren , and it is most gratifying to me to find I have not only the

local brethren rallying round me , but have the hearty good wishes and help of those who are far distant from us , and , in rising to second the proposition so ably put by Bro . A . Greenham , I can only say I do so with the greatest of p leasure , and the only regretable circumstance in the case is that I , as your Worshipful Master , was prevented fiom accompanying the others to Torquay , and that we have

not Bro . Chapman here this evening to present them himself . I will hot take up your time further , as I am sure Bro . F . Cooper , I . P . M ., and Bro . Bailey , P . M ., who accompanied Bro . Greenham , would like to endorse what has already been said . Bros . Cooper and Bailey having severally endorsed Bro . Grcenham ' s remarks , expressing the truly Masonic greeting they had at Torquay , the lodge was closed .

Brownrigg , CB ., P . G . M . Surrey , the brethren adjourned io the banqueting hall for dinner .

Here a very pleasant evening was spent . After some well chosen remarks and very kindly given advicefrom Bro . F . West , P . G . D ., D . P . G .

F . West , P . G . D ., D . P . G .
