Grand Master entered the lodge , and was warmly applauded as he took his seat . Rising almost
immediately , his lordship said it was only natural that Provincial Grand Masters should desire to follow the example of their excellent Grand Master , the Prince of Wales , and celebrate her Majesty's Jubilee by conferring past rank upon those brethren who were worthy of it . Of course , amongst so many good and true brethren in the province , it had been very difficult to make a selection ,
but he thought that the brethren he should presently call before the pedestal would be admitted by all to be thoroughly deserving of the honour for which they had been chosen . In accordance with the resolution passed by the Grand Lodge , they were four in number . He regretted that he had not the power to extend that number ; but he trusted that in due time the
many worthy brethren who were still without provincial rank would receive recognition of their services . In conclusion , his lordship expressed the pleasure he felt at having the opportunity of once more visiting the Lodge of Good Fellowship , of whose hospitality he had very pleasant recollections . His lordship then proceeded to invest the following brethren , to each of whom he addressed a few
congratulatory remarks : Bros . W . D . Merritt , P . M . 1000 , P . P . S . G . W . ; A . G . Maskell , W . M . 276 , P . P . J . G . W . ; A . Gosling , P . M . and Treas . C 97 , P . P . S . G .
M . and Treas . C 97 , P . P . S . G .
