Hematite Iron Ore may now be fairly considered one of the principal of our native productions , on account of its peculiar fitness and adaptability for producing not only the very best description of manufactured iron , but also steel
of the finest quality ; and as the latter article is rapidly coming into universal use for rails , the demand bids soon to be far in excess of the supply . For this and other purposes , the demand for Hematite Ore is enormous and
constantly increasing ; hence Hematite properties containing large deposits of Ore of fine quality , and possessing natural facilities for cheap and rapid development , have necessarily become extremely valuable , and from them gigantic fortunes have been , and are still being realized .
The Directors have been fortunate in securing a Hematite property which they confidently believe will fully realise the foregoing description , and justify them in its selection , and they do not doubt it will prove a source of unusually lucrative return for the money invested .
The property , which is about Eighty Acres in extent , is situate near the shi pping port of Par , in the County of Cornwall , and is likewise intersected by the Cornwall Railway , which gives access to the whole kingdom .
The advantages of its position are of no ordinary character , inasmuch as the Ore can be raised for 2 s . 6 d . per ton , and no cartage whatever is required ; it can therefore be delivered in South Wales at a cost of QS . 6 d . per ton .
Owing to the strike among the colliers , the present price of the Ore delivered would be about 18 s . per ton , but its normal average would be considerabl y in excess of this sum . The estate abounds in Hematite Ore of rich quality .
The vein which is being worked upon , and from which several thousand tons have been raised , varies from 12 feet to 18 feet in width , and extends for a considerable distance , so that there is an ample supply for a very large yearly output for a lifetime .
As soon as the necessary extension works are completed , and a steam engine erected , which will occupy but a very limited period , 200 tons per day may readil y be raised , and that quantity can be increased almost ad infinitum ; but
assuming that a minimum quantity of 100 tons per day only were raised , at a profit of only 6 s . 6 d . per ton , this would give a return of ,- £ 10 , 14 . 0 per annum , which is equal to upwards of 40 per cent , upon the entire capital of the

Company ; a return which could not be otherwise than highly satisfactory to the most sanguine . The Directors have every reason to believe , however , that the returns will greatly exceed this estimate , both as
regards the output and the profit per ton to be derived , and they therefore confidentl y draw the attention of the moneyed classes to the undertaking as second to none as a safe and profitable investment .
This Company has therefore been formed for the purpose of acquiring the lease of the property , and largely developing the rich deposits of mineral which it contains . Although the vendor firml y believes that there is not the
slightest occasion for it , he has agreed to leave in the hands of the Directors one half of the purchase money , in order to secure the due payment of minimum dividends of at least 10 per cent , per annum , for three years—a fact which
speaks for itself of his estimation of the value of the property , and the results certain to be realized from working it The Directors consider themselves fortunate in having
secured the services , as Manager , of Captain Thomas Parkyn , whose residence on the spot and great practical mining knowledge will be of the utmost value to the
Company . The annexed reports , by eminent authorities on such matters , fully explain the nature and value , and lucidly point out the merits and capabilities of , the undertaking .
The only contract or agreement is one bearing date the 30 th October , 18 74 , and made between J . Mason of the one part , and S . S . Ewart , on behalf of the Company on the other part , by which it is stipulated that ^ 15 , 000 is to be paid for the property .
Copies of the Contract , Memorandum and Articles of Association , & c , may be seen at the solicitors , or at the offices of the Company , where also prospectuses , forms of application , & c . may be obtained and samples of the Ore be seen .
Applications for shares must be made to the Bankers on the accompanying form , and with a deposit of ios . per share on the number applied for .
It no allotment be made , the money will be returned without any deduction , and where a less number of shares than that applied for , the balance of deposit will be credited towards the sum payable on allotment .
