M . said he had very much pleasure in submitting

the toastof "The Prov . G . Master for Surrey ig charge , and the Prov . G . Officers , " as Bro . Frederick West vvas not only one of his best fiiends in Croydon , but vvas also his introducer into Freemasonry , having proposed him and acted as J . D . at his initiation . He ( the W . M . ) was sorry Bro . West was not present , but that brother having been slightly indisposed had gone away for the good of his

health . Having the honour to be a Prov . G . Officer , he felt diffident about speaking of them . Bro . Hugh M . Hobbs , Prov . J . G . W ., after returning thanks , said [ he vvas quite sure they all regretted Bro . West was unable to be present , and that brother had told him how sorry he vvas to be absent , having been present at the consecration and at every installation meeting

since . He regretted that the brother who had arrived ( Bro . Dr . Lott , P . G . Org . ) was not present when the preceding toast vvas proposed , for he vvould no doubt have told them that the members of Grand Lodge took the deepest interest in everything connected with the prosperity and success of the lodges , and they in the provinces vvere equally delighted to do all they could for the same object ,

and in visiting lodges and seeing that the work was carried out as in that lodge . He would say a word as to the success of their lodge . They had every reason to congratulate themselves on what they had done in the past , and to look forward with hope to the future . It was always a pleasure to see a brother installed , but it vvas a special pleasure when they saw one of their own members a Prov .

G . Officer , and one who was deservedly respected in the province . Bro . Cambridge , the W . M ., was not only a Past Prov . G . Officer , but was also a past and the present Prov . G . Org . of the Prov . G . Chapter . They congratulated him on attaining the dignity of the chair , and wished him health and success , and prosperity to the lodge under his rule .

Bro . J . S . Fraser , I . P . M ., said the duty he had to perform for the first time in that Iodge was to propose " The Health of the W . M . " Bro . Cambridge had been a member since the commencement of the Iodf . e , and was a first class member of it . After the remarks made by Bro . Hobbs he would simply ask the brethren to drink the toast .

Bro . F , Cambridge , W . M ., thanked the I . P . M . and brethren for the manner in which the toast had been proposed and received . He was quite aware that he had a difficult task to perform in filling the chair that had been so well filled since the formation of the lodge by the four P . M . 's , who were all excellent workers—in fact , some of the best workers he had ever heard . It was a very difficult

matter to follow the I . P . M ., but he trusted that , with the help of the P . M . 's , and the sympathy of the brethren , not to discredit the reputation of the lodge . "The Health of the I . P . M . " was well given by the W . Master , who observed that they had not all had an opportunity of seeing Bro . Fraser , I . P . M ., perform a good deal of work , but , having seen him work in another lodge , he

was quite sure that if there had been more work he vvould have proved his ability to do it . He had the pleasure of presenting the I . P . M . with a P . M . ' s jewel , and hoped he would be spared many years to wear it . Bro . J . S . Fraser , I . P . M ., responded , and said he felt that during his year he had not done that for the lodge which he ought to have done . The fact vvas he had been

some years in the Craft in another Iodge , and all his old friends had gone into that lodge , and therefore he had , unfortunately , been unable to introduce any fresh blood . If , however , he had the chance in the future , this lodge would have the first opportunity . He had to thank them for the jewel they had been kind enough to present to him . He did not know if he had deserved it , but he had done

his best for the Iodge , and hoped to do better in the future . The W . M . then proposed " The Visitors , " cordially welcoming the visiting brethren , and expressing his regret that there vvas not a larger number , which vvas owing to their meeting falling on the eve of the Whitsuntide holidays . He coupled with the toast the names of Bros . Fenn , W . M . 538 ; Stevens , S . W . 306 ; and W . W .

Lee , 1 S 97 , vvho returned thanks for the hospitality they had received , and paid a high tribute to the working and efficiency of the lodge . Bro . Ridpath , P . G . Stwd ., P . M ., replied for "The Past Masters , " and said there was little he could say in their behalf that had not already been said in that Iodge . Those vvho had preceded their esteemed W . M . vvere well

known , and it was therefore unnecessary for him to recapitulate their merits . The principal point he would like to mention was the practice which had been carried out in their lodge of the P . M . ' s representing the lodge for the Masonic Charities . He did not think they vvould find in the province any Iodge which had in so short a time taken up to the various Charities such large amounts . Without

mentioning the names and amounts , he thought the total amount exceeded £ noo in four years . He hoped their future W . M . ' s vvould see that this line which had been laid down was carried out to the benefit of the Charities , vvhich vvas the principal feature of Masonry . "The Treasurer and Secretary" vvas next given , and Bro . Hugh M . Hobbs , P . M ., Treas ., having replied ,

Bro . J . D . Langton , P . P . J . G . W ., Secretary , responded , and said that having been the first W . M . of the lodge he was glad to be the Secretary . He bad received other honours , but he felt none greater than having been tbe first W . M . of the George Price Lodge . He vvas followed by Bro . Hobbs , who had shown he was appreciated by having received Provincial Grand Honours as Prov .

Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

J . G . W ., vvhich he most richly deserved . Reference had been made to the contributions coming from their lodge towards the Masonic Charities , and he was sure nobody was more delighted than he that they had been prominent in taking up gocd lists . There was one Charity vvhich had during the past few months been greatly discussed , namely , the Boys' School , and , as perhaps most of the

brethren vvere aware , a Provisional Committee had been appointed to carry on the management of that Institution . He had the honour to be the Hon . Sec . of that Committee , and he attended a meeting on the previous day , when the feeling was expressed that the great desire of that Committee was that the utmost should he done for the benefit of the boys , and he was sure , speaking in the presence of

Subscribers and Governors , that they would join in the earnest endeavour to make the coming Festival a success . While they might entertain certain feelings as to the past management , still they must not forget that the interests of everybody ought to be the benefit of the Institution . He trusted that those who could become Stewards would come forward , and those who had not become Subscribers vvould subscribe , for if any Institution required support at this

moment , it was the Boys' School . He felt rather deeply on this subject , and would not detain them further , except to thank them for the manner in vvhich the toast had been received . " The Officers " and the Tyler's toast concluded the proceedings . The musical arrangements vvere under the direction of Bro . H . L . Balfour , assisted by Bros . F . C . Atkinson and C . J . Balfour , and Mr . Harry Gent .

EAST MOLESEY . —Cyclist Lodge ( No . 2246 ) . —A meeting of this lodge was held on the Sth inst . ln the absence of the VV . M ., Bro . E . C . Mulvey took the chair , and there were also present Bros . VV . j . Mason . S . W . ; C . A . Itter , J . VV . ; T . Clarke , S . D . ; J . K . R . Cama , W . R . Hatton , O . Enderline , S . S . Lyons , and D . P . Cama , P . G . T . and P . S . G . W . Visitors : Bros . J . Mayo and VV . Wentrope . The lodge was opened , and the minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed , and Bro . Millington was passed to the Degree of F . C It was proposed by the S . W ., and seconded by Bro . Lyons , that the summer outing take place on the second Saturday in September , and that

the W . M ., P . M . 's , and Wardens be the Committee to arrange the same . The acting W . M . read a letter received from the P . G . Secretary of the Province of Surrey of the death of the G . M . for the province . Bro . D . P . Cama proposed , and the S . W . seconded , that a vote of deep regret be recorded on the minutes . Bro . Mulvey read a letter received from the VV . M ., Bro . H . Holmes , informing the lodge of the death of Bro . R . Trunie , and proposed

that a letter of condolence be written to the widow of the heartfelt sympathy of the brethren of the Cyclist Lodge in her bereavement , which was seconded by Bro . Mason . Bros . D . P . Cama and Parkhouse supported the same , and expressed deep regret . Bro . Mulvey proposed , and Bro . N . Goodchild seconded , that a R . A . chapter be attached to this lodge , vvhich was carried unanimously . Bro . Wiclcess tendered nis resignation , which was accepted with regret . AU business being ended the lodge vvas closed .

RANELAGH LODGE ( No . 834 ) . —A meeting was held on the Jth inst ., at the Six Bella Hotel , Queen-street , Hammersmith It being " officers' night , " there was a goodly muster of the brethren — all members of the mother lodge — under the able guidance of the W . M ., Bro . W . J . Coplestone , assisted by the esteemed Preceptor , Bro . lames Sims , P . M .

The lodge having been opened , the ceremonies of passing and raising were rehearsed in a very perfect and impressive manner , to the credit and satisfaction of all present . Bro . Arthur Williams was elected W . M . for the next meeting . It is pleasing to note that the Benevolent Fund attached to this ledge of Instruction is being well supported by its members .

Brindley , Preceptor , worked the 2 nd Section of the First Lecture . On rising for the second time , Bro . G . H . Foan , S . W ., was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing week , and appointed his officers in rotation . On rising for the third time , Bro . W . Brindley proposed that a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes to Bro . A . Clark , W . M . 2191 , for the able way in which he had worked the ceremony of installation—seconded by Bro . Wright

Barringer , and carried unanimously . Bro . A . Clark made a suitable reply . Bro . W . Brindley expressed the pleasure of seeing the Deputy Preceptor , Bro . J . Greenway , present after his long and serious illness , and hoped that he would be able to be amongst them again regularly , in which he felt sure the brethren concurred . To which Bro . J . Greenway replied . Nothing further offering for the good of Freemasonry , the lodge was closed .
