WEYSIDE . Weyside Lodge ( No . 1395 ) . —The installation meeting of this lodge was held at the Masonic Hall , on Tuesday evening , the 27 th ult ., and was a highly successful one . The W . M . elect was Bro . Gilbert Henry White , the son of a Mason whose memory is held in respect in this neighbourhood , and , curiously enough , the ceremony of
installation fell to Bro . Percy Harry White , W . Al ., a brother however , not in any way related to the new VV . M . Bro . Percy White performed the important function in a manner to call forth hearty appreciation from the brethren , and the installed Alaster gave promise that the lodge would flourish during his term of office . In the regrettable absence of Bro . A . H . Bowles , Bro . F . Passmore , Prov .
Grand Organist , presided at the harmonium , and the whole ceremony was of the most impressive character , greatly added to by the admirable way Bro . Goffin ( one of the first initiates in the lodge , and now holding many high offices in Masonry ) carried out the duties . Regret was expressed at the absence of Bros . A . H . Bowles and Alajor Bowles , P . AI ., and also owing to previous engagements of Bro .
Col . Aloney , Grand Alaster of the Province , and Bro . West , Deputy Prov . G . Alaster . The W . Al . appointed his officers as follows : Bros . S . C Knight , S . W . ; VV . E . Robinson , J . It is worthy of mention that one of the visitors , Bro . Gould , is the author of " The History of Freemasonry ; its Antiquities , Symbols , Constitutions , and Customs , " running
into six vols . large quarto . This is a work every enthusiastic Mason ought to possess . The catering was under the direction of Bro . Mason , Tyler , and could not have been better carried out . The toasts were of tbe usual Alasonic and complimentary character , Bro . Goffin , however , in replying for " The Visitors , " giving a most interesting account of the career of the Weyside Lodge , which he reminded the brethren was that evening celebrating its 21 st anniversary .

With the proposition of candidates , and " Hearty good wishes" from the visitors , the lodge was closed , and about 50 adjourned to the Globe Hotel , where a banquet was
served , and the usual loyal toasts were given trom the chair . "The Provincial Grand Lodge" was proposed by Bro . Chapman , J . W ., and responded to by the officers of the year present . "Ihe Newly-Installed W . M ., Bro . Anderson , " was
proposed by Bro . Dalrymple , Prov . G . Sec , who also read 12 verses that he had composed expressly in commemoration of such a singular event as Bro . Anderson being that day installed W . Al . of 119 , and at the same time W . AL of 1002 , and we here add the three last verses . When the last was read all the brethren stood up , and repeated it with great applause .

The brethren afterwards spent a social hour over a pleasant repast .

Letters of congratulation and apologies for absence were read from about 20 brethren from a distance .
" Alay youthful Crafhmen mark and learn When ruled by genius rare ; And try with patience to discern The compass and the square . " May sons of Micht' be free from care , And keep the unerring line , «

Bro . Anderson-replied , and thanked the members for the honour conferred upon him , and no effort would be wanting on his part to try and uphold the honour and dignity of the warrant of 119 . Bro . Rev . J . Tyson proposed " The Installing Alasters , Bros . Kenworthy and Barr , " and the latter briefly replied . With the toast of "The Newly-invested Officers" and some capital harmony by Bros . Cook , Starkey , Jackson , Johns , and Hodgson , a most agreeable evening was spent .
