Centenary Meeting At The Royal Albert Hall.

Yorkshire Provinces—that of the North and East Ridings , with its roll of 34 lodges , being represented by 15 Stewards , and being responsible for not far short of £ 500 , while that of the West Riding , which has So lodges on its roll , subscribed £ 6100 , thc number of Stewards being 373 .

There are a few other Provinces which have not been referred to in strict alphabetical order , namely , the ISLE OV MAN , with nine lodges ; J ERSKV , with seven lodges ; and NORTH WAI . ES , with 20 lodges . Two of thc three included among their representatives their respective Prov . Grand Masters , namely , Jersey , which

had Bro . Col . E . C . Malct de Carteret , Prov . G . M ., and North Wales , which was led by Bro . Lord Harlech . The Provinces of the Isle of Man and Jersey return £ 66 and £ 126 respectively ,

and South Wales , whieh sent up 27 Stewards , compiled a round total of £ 1000 . The grand total from the Provincial section of the Board was announced as £ 7 8 , 031 , the number of brethren and ladies who gave their services as Stewards being 257 6 .

There remains the section which comprises the District , Colonial , and Foreign Lodges that took part in the Proceedings , the number of Stewards hailing therefrom being 22 , while the fiim total of their lists reached to £ 918 . Comparing the number of Districts in existence , this appears to be a small sum , but many

of them have Educational and Benevolent Institutions of their own , and it is but seldom that we look to see any of them included in our Festival Returns . But during lhe last few years ithas generally happened that two or three Stewards from Abroad have given their services , and have raised as a rule moderate amounts .

On this occasion , however , there was one Return of over £ 120 from one of thc representatives of the Argentine Republic , and another of nearly £ 350 from the representative of Alalia—Bro . Major-Gen . J . F . ' Owen , R . A ., Dist . G . M . These with other

good sums make up a tolal of £ 918 , and as there arc still several Returns to be made , it is possible that the total may ultimately reach £ 1000 . The highest hitherto has been , as far as wc remember , about £ 150 , so that Foreign Stations are to be con-. --ratulaled on so admirable a Return .

Bro . J . H . Whadcoat , Mayor and Alderman of the Town and County of Poole , in Dorsetshire , a Justice of the Peace , and member of the Dorset County Council , F . R . G . S ., F . S . S ., < S : c ., who has so generously promised a donation of 1000 guineas to

thc funds obtained at thc Boys' School Centenary Festival on ( lie ioth instant , was initiated in St . James ' s Lodge , No . 44 S , Halifax , in 1880 . lie is a P . M . of the Royal Athelstan Lodge , Xo . 19 , and Amity Lodge , No . 137 , Poole ; a member of Grand Master ' s Lodge , No . 1 , and uf thc luirnival Lodge , No . 2558 ,

and Accepted Rite , and is ist Constable in the H yde Preceptory of Knights Templary at Wimborne . Above all , he is a Patron of all our three Institutions , for each of which he has served Stewardships ; a Vice-President of the Dorset Masonic

chiefly instrumental in bringing about the gift to the Port of Poole of the London Masonic Club Lifeboat . He has thus done splendid work , of which he and his many friends have just reason to be proud .
