Meredith— " That this lodge desires to express their sympathy with their Immediate Past Master , Sir Watkin Williams Wynn , at the sad accident that had befallen him , and trusted that by the blessing of the Great Architect of the Universe , he would be in a short time completely restored to his usual health . " The Iodge was then closed , and a most enjoyable evening brought to a close .

SALFORD . —Newall Lodge ( No . 1134 ) . —The regular meeting of the above lodge was held at Adelphi House , on Tuesday , the 4 th inst . There were present Bros . S . Ayland , W . M . ; J . McMyn , 269 ( visitor ) . There was a passing due , but , from circumstances of an unavoidable nature , the candidate was not present .

However , the VV . M . wisely adopted a lodge of instruction , the whole ceremony being gone through , and this being the first meeting after the installation , it is very pleasing to relate the W . M . did the ceremony without a fault , being most ably supported by every officer who took part in the ceremony , which was most interesting and instructive to all present .

TEDDINGTON . —Sir Charles Bright Lodge ( No . 1793 ) . —This lodge met at the Clarence Hotel on the 28 th ult . Among those present were Bros . J . Finch , W . M . ; W . J . Porter , S . W . ; A . Plaford was elected to represent the lodge at the R . M . B . I . Festival in 18 S 9 , and Bro . Porter , the W . M . elect , the R . M . I , for Boys' Festival also in 1889 . Notices of motion were given to vote each Charity the sum of five guineas .

A P . M . s jewel having been unanimously voted to Bro . Finch , the lodge vvas duly closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet . Upon the removal of the cloth , the customary toasts were duly honoured . An excellent programme of music was furnished by Bros . Ruffell , Porter , J . and E . Hal ! , and others .

The lodge was called . off , and , on resumi ig , was opened in the Second and Third Degrees , and the ceremony of installation was rehearsed , including the appointment and investiture of officers . The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted .

It showed a good balance in hand , and no liabilities . Comp . P . A . Nairne , P . Z ., D . C , by unanimous desire of the members , took the chair , and , in an excellent manner , installed Comps . J . E . Cockett , M . E . Z . ; H . F . Paget , H . ; and Mihill Slaughter , J . The other officers appointed were Comps . J . B . Sonell , P . Z ., Treas . ; Fred . Walters , P . Z ., P . P . KENNINGTON CHAPTER ( No . 1381 ) This chapter met at the Horns Tavern , Kennington Park , on the 6 th inst ., when there were present , among others , Comps . H . J . Lardner , P . P . G . Std . Br ., Surrey , M . E . Z . ; T . C . Walls , P . P . G . P . S . Middx ., P . Z ., acting H . j W . W . Westley , J . ; H . Higgins , S . E . j Salter , P . S . j George Everett , P . and others . The minutes of the previous convocation having been read and confirmed , the ballot vvas taken on behalf of Bro . J . VV . Grower , J . D . 186 , and Bro . T . R . Chamley , 141 , and , it proving to be unanimous , the former , being in attendance , was most ably exalted by the M . E . Z ., whose working as a Royal Arch Mason is widely and deservedly

known . It was resolved unanimously That the best thanks of this chapter are due , and be hereby given , to Ex . Comp . H . Higgins , P . Z ., S . E ., for his kindness in presenting an old family Bible of the 17 th century to the chapter . The gift is rendered more appropriate by the circumstance that it is partly printed and bound in red . The chapter is also indebted to Ex . Comp . H . J . Lardner , M . E . Z ., for his

kindness in having had a brass tablet recording the gift duly affixed thereto . " The chapter vvas then closed . At the banquet vvhich followed , the toasts were duly honoured . In giving "The Treasurer and Scribe E ., " the M . E . Z . mentioned the circumstance that at Grand Lodge on the previous night Comp . George Everett had been duly

nominated as Grand 1 reasurer , and if the warmth accorded to the announcement meant anything , he ( the M . E . Z . ) augured well for the ultimate success of iheir popular and genial Treasurer . The M . E . Z . also paid a high compliment to Comp . Higgins for the painstaking way in which he carried out his dutiesas S . E . The other toasts received full justice , and a most agreeable evening vvas passed .

SHEERNESS-ON-SEA . — Adams Chapter ( No . 158 ) . —The annual installation of this ancient chapter took place at the Britannia Hotel , on Tuesday , 27 th ult ., when the following companions were installed and invested for the ensuing year by Comps . W . Pannell , I . P . Z ., and A . Spears , P . Z . and P . P . G . O . : Comps . J . Tower , Z . ; E . J .

However , the VV . M . wisely adopted a lodge of instruction , the whole ceremony being gone through , and this being the first meeting after the installation , it is very pleasing to relate the W . M . did the ceremony without a fault , being most ably supported by every officer who took part in the ceremony , which was most interesting and instructive to all present .

Br ., Surrey , M . E . Z . ; T . C . Walls , P . P . G . P . S . Middx ., P . Z ., acting H . j W . W . Westley , J . ; H . Higgins , S . E . j Salter , P . S . j George Everett , P . Z ., Treas . j Reinardt , Janitor j

and others . The minutes of the previous convocation having been read and confirmed , the ballot vvas taken on behalf of Bro . J . VV . Grower , J . D . 186 , and Bro . T . R . Chamley , 141 , and , it proving to be unanimous , the former , being in attendance , was most ably exalted by the M . E . Z ., whose working as a Royal Arch Mason is widely and deservedly

known . It was resolved unanimously That the best thanks of this chapter are due , and be hereby given , to Ex . Comp . H . Higgins , P . Z ., S . E ., for his kindness in presenting an old family Bible of the 17 th century to the chapter . The gift is rendered more appropriate by the circumstance that it is partly printed and bound in red . The chapter is also indebted to Ex . Comp . H . J . Lardner , M . E . Z ., for his

kindness in having had a brass tablet recording the gift duly affixed thereto . " The chapter vvas then closed . At the banquet vvhich followed , the toasts were duly honoured . In giving "The Treasurer and Scribe E ., " the M . E . Z . mentioned the circumstance that at Grand Lodge on the previous night Comp . George Everett had been duly

nominated as Grand 1 reasurer , and if the warmth accorded to the announcement meant anything , he ( the M . E . Z . ) augured well for the ultimate success of iheir popular and genial Treasurer . The M . E . Z . also paid a high compliment to Comp . Higgins for the painstaking way in which he carried out his dutiesas S . E . The other toasts received full justice , and a most agreeable evening vvas passed .

SHEERNESS-ON-SEA . — Adams Chapter ( No . 158 ) . —The annual installation of this ancient chapter took place at the Britannia Hotel , on Tuesday , 27 th ult ., when the following companions were installed and invested for the ensuing year by Comps .
