J ., and the rest ol

the Grand Officers , Present and Past , was given in highly complimentary terms , the M . E . Z . remarking the splendid working of the Consecrating Oflicers only a fortnight ago was a proof of their interest in Royal Arch Alasonry , and their heartiest thanks were due to them for the courteous manner which at all times characterised them . Comp . H . Sadler , G . Janitor , in reply , said that on behalf of the Grand Oflicers he would tender his humble thanks . He was very pleased to have taken part in the cons ; cration

of that chapter , and it was a visit long to be remembered . The Grand Oflicers , he would inform the companions , were very much pleased with the whole arrangements . He had heard of the reputation of the M . E . Z ., and he thought he would visit and see for himself , and having witnessed the exaltation of 15 brethren in such an excellent manner , thoroughly bore out that report . The toast of "The Al . E . Z . " was given by Comp . H . Vickery , P . Z ., in excellent terms , and received with enthusiasm .

In reply , Comp . Hilton thanked all most heartily , and was proud to be the First Principal of the Rose Chapter , for the same principles would be carried out as in the Rose Lodge . He felt it a great privilege to exalt the three highly esteemed Past Alasters of Rose Lodge . While he had such cordial support he would not fail in striving to make the chapter the most successful in London . He hoped to receive a hearty response to his list from the

companions for the Girls' School Festival , and enable him to take a good sum and be worthy of the chapter . The Al . E . Z . next gave the toast of " The f I . and J ., " remarking that two such excellent oflicers would ensure a certain success . Comp . Martin had that evening rehearsed his lecture in a most exemplary manner ; as also Comp .

Williams , who was always most anxious that the work should be carried out as ably as possible , Comp . H . G . Martin , . H ., replied with hearty thanks , stating that the M . E . Z . had initiated him into Freemasonry , exalted him into the Royal Arch , and he trusted would install htm into the chair of Z . He was proud of following one so worthy , and would do his best for the chapter .

Royal Arch.

Comp . F . Williams , J ., also stated th 2 chapter should not suffer at his hands , but would assure the companions he would do everything in his power to further the interests of the Rose Chapter . He heartily thanked the companions for such a cordial greeting and to Comp . Grummant for his kindness in occupying the chair of J . so efficiently during his absence , on account of pressure of business .

In giving the toast of the evening , that of "The Exaltees , " the M . E . Z . remarked that the founders alone could not make the chapter a success , but when such an array of exaltees of such calibre were joining , it was laying a splendid foundation and forming a monument to the Rose

Lodge and something to be proud of . It showed the necessity of the chapter when one saw the number of Past Masters offering themselves from other lodges , specially the Blackheath Lodge , from which lodge there were two more propositions . A most hearty reception was accorded them .

The following companions most suitably replied : Comps , Loader , Dunn , William jeffery , Hooper , Lewis , Derham , Dawson , Goddard Clarke , and Potter . That of "The Visitors" was given in most complimentary terms by the M . E . Z ., and responded to by Comps . T . Grummant , R . J . Vincent , and C H . Stone , acknowledging the same most cordially . The toast of " The Officers " received at the hands of

the M . E . Z . such ameasureof praiseasthey richly deserved , and replied to by one and all , thanking the companions and pledging themselves to do their utmost for the success of the Rose Chapter . Comp .

E . Z . " was given by Comp . H . Vickery , P . Z ., in excellent terms , and received with enthusiasm .

Comp .
