PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF LINCOLNSHIRE .

On Thursday , the 31 st ult ., the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held in the Court Exchange at Bourne , under the banner of the Hereward Lodge , the P . G . M ., Bro . W . H . Smyth , J . P ., D . L ., presiding . There was a good attendance from all parts of the large province , in spite of the uncertainty of the weather . The Provincial Grand Lodge was opened in due form by the Prov . G . M ., who was attended by the D . P . G . M ., Bro . Dr . Sissons , J . P ., P . A . G . D . C . of England , and other Provincial Grand Officers .

The roll of lodges having been called , the financial statement of the P . G . Treasurer , Bro . C . M . Nesbitt , 712 , was received , as well as the report-of the Committee and abstract of accounts of the Provincial Grand Lodge Fund of Benevolence , Oliver Memorial Fund , Smyth Scholarship Fund , and Sutcliffe Fund to December 31 st , 1893 .

The tent presented a very brilliant appearance , The reports were generally satisfactory , both as regards the charitable work of the province and numerical strength of the subscribing members , these last having increased by 18 during the year . A convocation of the above was held in the Masonic Hall , Great Georgestreet , Leeds , on the 23 rd ult ., by invitation of Excelsior Chapter , No . 1042 . There were present Comps . Comp . Henry Smith , Prov . G . H ., Acting Grand Superintendent , having opened the chapter , the roll of chapters and Present and Past Prov . Grand Officers was called , and the minutes of the Prov . Grand Convocation , held at Wakefield , 24 th November , 1893 , were taken as read and confirmed . The ACTING GRAND SUPERINTENDENT then delivered an address , which commenced with a kindly and sympathetic reference to the Grand Superintendent , who , he regretted to report , was not progressing satisfactorily , and

had been ordered for change of air to the mild atmosphere of Leamington . He stated that Grand Chapter had made an addition of six provincial officers , the province having 30 chapters and upwards , and also referred to the new regulation as to exalting Master Masons after a period of four months , and passed on to notice the present position of Royal Aich Masonry in the province , which showed that there were at present 129 S subscribing members , as against 1257 in the previous year , and a slightly increased income . Referring to the lioys'School Festival , at which the Prov . Grand

Provincial Grand Chapter Of West Yorkshire.

Master was to preside , he was pleased to be able to state that out of 76 lodges 70 had contributed to the subscription list , as well as five of the chapters . Comp . Fox , Chairman of the Charity Committee , pursuant to notice , proposed : " That the sum of £ 52 105 . be granted to further endow the Grand Superintendent ' s chair in the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys ,

and in support of the chairmanship of the Right Hon . William Lawies Jackson , M . P ., who will preside at the 96 th Festival , to be held at the " Pavilion , Brighton , on Wednesday , the 27 th June . " He also stated that the chair of Grand Superintendent being already a Vice-President ' s , this grant would bring double votes ( 10 ) in perpetuity . The motion was seconded by Comp . SMITHSON , Past Chairman , and carried .

The PROV . G . TREASURER , in very felicitous terms , proposed that Comp . Henry Cowbrough , P . Z . 1042 , be elected as his successor . Comp . WILLIAM BINGHAM , in seconding the proposition , said how much gratified the companions of the Excelsior Chapter would feel if the proposition received the approval of the Prov . Grand Chapter , and spoke as to Comp . Cowbrough ' s qualifications for the position . The resolution was carried with acclamation .

PROVINCIAL GRAND MARK LODGE OF NORTH AND EAST YORKSHIRE .

The annual convocation of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held at Beverley , by the invitation of the Beverlac Lodge , No . 2 S 1 . There was a large attendance of brethren , amongst those present being Bros . Col . the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett , P . G . M . ; Col . R . G . Smith , D . P . G . M . ; M . C . Peck , P . M . ; the Rev . E . A . B . Pitman , M . A ., P . G . C ; T . Thompson , P . G . S . B . Eng . ; W . H . Cowper , P . G . I . G . Eng . ; H . O . Piercy , P . P . G . W . ; and others .

Telegrams of regret for absence were received from Bros . C . L . Mason , P . G . M . West Yorkshire , and W . Matthewman , Prov . G . Sec . West Yorkshire . The roll having been called and the report of the General Purposes Committee read and confirmed , the P . G . Treasurer ' s balance-sheet was presented and adopted .

Bro . John Marshall , P . G . Treasurer , hiving resigned that office , which he had held and discharged lo the satisfaction of the brethren for some years , a vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to him for his services , and his son , Bro . W . J . Marshall , was elected his successor . The Fitzwilliam Lodge , of Malton , gave a cordial invitation to the Provincial Grand Lodge to hold their next meeting in Malton . The PROV . GRAND MASTER said the invitation should have his favourable

consideration . Donations were then voted from the Benevolent Fund for relief of poor and distressed M . M . Ms ., also to the Prov . Educational Fund and the M irk Benevolent Fund . The PROV . GRAND MASTER , in an interesting speech , alluded to the

prosperity of the province , and thought it might be found to be to the convenience of the greater number of the breihren to hold their future meetings in York , and asked for an expression of opinion from the various lodges before their next assembly . He also expressed their indebtedness to the Beverhc Lodge for their hospitality and the excellent arrangements . The Prov . Grand Master then appointed and invested the following

The PROV . G . TREASURER , in very felicitous terms , proposed that Comp . Henry Cowbrough , P . Z . 1042 , be elected as his successor . Comp . WILLIAM BINGHAM , in seconding the proposition , said how much gratified the companions of the Excelsior Chapter would feel if the proposition received the approval of the Prov . Grand Chapter , and spoke as to Comp . Cowbrough ' s qualifications for the position . The resolution was carried with acclamation .

PROVINCIAL GRAND MARK LODGE OF NORTH AND EAST YORKSHIRE .

The annual convocation of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held at Beverley , by the invitation of the Beverlac Lodge , No . 2 S 1 . There was a large attendance of brethren , amongst those present being Bros . Col . the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett , P . G . M . ; Col . R . G . Smith , D . P . G . M . ; M . C . Peck , P . M . ; the Rev . E . A . B . Pitman , M . A ., P . G . C ; T . Thompson , P . G . S . B . Eng . ; W . H . Cowper , P . G . I . G . Eng . ; H . O . Piercy , P . P . G . W . ; and others .

Telegrams of regret for absence were received from Bros . C . L . Mason , P . G . M . West Yorkshire , and W . Matthewman , Prov . G . Sec . West Yorkshire . The roll having been called and the report of the General Purposes Committee read and confirmed , the P . G . Treasurer ' s balance-sheet was presented and adopted .

Bro . John Marshall , P . G . Treasurer , hiving resigned that office , which he had held and discharged lo the satisfaction of the brethren for some years , a vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to him for his services , and his son , Bro . W . J . Marshall , was elected his successor . The Fitzwilliam Lodge , of Malton , gave a cordial invitation to the Provincial Grand Lodge to hold their next meeting in Malton . The PROV . GRAND MASTER said the invitation should have his favourable

consideration . Donations were then voted from the Benevolent Fund for relief of poor and distressed M . M . Ms ., also to the Prov . Educational Fund and the M irk Benevolent Fund . The PROV . GRAND MASTER , in an interesting speech , alluded to the

prosperity of the province , and thought it might be found to be to the convenience of the greater number of the breihren to hold their future meetings in York , and asked for an expression of opinion from the various lodges before their next assembly . He also expressed their indebtedness to the Beverhc Lodge for their hospitality and the excellent arrangements . The Prov . Grand Master then appointed and invested the following
