Of late , writes a correspondent , there has been some comment among Royal Arch Masons regarding chapters purporting to be of that body recently opened in Glasgow and the neighbourhood , members of which , at the instigation of the founders of these bodies , assert for obvious reasons that they are genuine authorised Royal Arch Masons and recognised as such elsewhere . It may serve as a warning to brethren who may be tempted to join any of
such so-called chapters , that the Grand Chapters of Royal Arch Masons in England and Ireland recognise none hailing from Scotland unless they were received under . a warrant or charter from the "Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland . " Such a fact having been questioned by one of the unrecognised has been definitely settled b y a Provincial Grand O ( lice-Hearer , who has , in answer to his question on the subject , received an official reply in the above terms , from both England and Ireland . —The Mallet .
If there is anything which men in the commercial world are supposed to be alive to , it is their own interests . For about eight years now they have had Mr . Henry Sell , of Fleet-street , working hard to give them a directory of telegraphic addresses , which should be as complete as possible as a result of personal labour , but which could only be quite complete if he could transcribe thc Post
Office Register of those addresses . For these eight years Mr . Sell has striven , trying four Postmasters-General in succession , and at last succeeding with Mr . Arnold Morley . The next edition will contain more than double the number of addresses ever previously given , will be authoritative as it comes from the Post Ollice direct , and will certainly be about the most valuable publication ever issued for business
men . Surely they will see that Mr . Sell has a little reward for what he has done by buying his book , and making a permanent addition to their books of reference . Twelfth Annual .
