The favour of your Votes and Interest is earnestly solicited on behalf of ELIZABETH MARY LANGLEY , 71 years of age , residing at 102 , Cowley Road , Brixton , widow of the late Bro . William Langley , who was for many years manager of the Queen ' s Hotel , Hastings , and afterwards in business at Canterbury . _ The late Bro . Langley was initiated in the Derwent Lodge , No . 40 , Hastings , on the 13 th March , 1 SG 5 , and was installed W . Master of the Lodge on the 13 th January , tS 73 . He continued a Subscribing Member until May , 1 S 79 , when he was compelled to resign owing to failing health and serious monetary losses . He was for two years M . E . Z . of the Chapter of Emulation , No . 40 , and was also a Mark Master Mason . He was a Life Governor of the Boys' School , besides having been a frequent Subscriber to the other Masonic Charities . His misfortunes compelled him to become a Candidate for the Annuity of the K . M . B . I . inMay last , but he died just before the election , leaving his widow ( the present Candidate ) quite unprovided for and she is now dependent only on the solicitude of a few friends .
