Royal Victorian Jubilee Lodge ( No . 2184 ) . —The first meeting of the above excellent lodge took place at the Phoenix Hotel , on Thursday , the 25 th ultimo , and vvas both a remarkable and enjoyable one . The Jodge vvas opened by the VV . M ., Bro . T . Ringrose , who , in a peculiar ritual restricted to but one

English lodge that vve have ever seen it worked in—the Temperance-in the-East—initiated Mr . Edward Cook . Bro . C . T . Tijou , Asst . Purst . of the Grand Lodge of England , was present , and was accorded Grand honours , for which he returned thanks . The lodge vvas magnificently furnished , every article being presented by the brethren of the lodge , as follows : Bro . F . J . Eedle , P . M ., J . W ., the three

pedestals , the fronts being beautifully carved with the arms of the lodge ; Bro . Tijou congratulated the lodge on its handsome quarters , and also upon the real Masonic spirit that must have influenced the brethren to furnish the lodije so admirably . In a large lodge , in a large town he should not have been surprised , hut in a small lodge

like that , and in a small town like Rainham , it not only surprised but delighted him , and he felt sure that at its new home the lodge would soon become one of the most influential in the Province of Essex . No less than live nominations of candidates vvere made for the next meeting , and then the lodge vvas closed . A really superb banquet was provided by llro . Joyce , and

splendidly served , vvhich vvas much appreciated . Bro . Joyce also provided several professional brethren to aid the harmony , and a most enjoyable evening was spent . Hibernia Lodge ( No . 431 ) . —We can imagine no greather pleasure or satisfation than for a father to be a witness of and to assist at the installation into the chair of W . M . of his own son , but when that installation is attended with surroundings rendering the ceremony doubly impressive , and that the proceedings were honoured vvith the presence of the highest and most distinguished of the

leaders of the Order then , indeed , the cup of satisfaction must be full to the brim , and parental pride , and parental pleasure be feelings worthy of honest envy and fraternal admiration . Such may well have filled the heart of that excellent and popular brother Richard Clowes , on Friday , the 9 th inst ., when his son , Bro . Percy Clowes , vvas installed by special dispensation into the chair of the lodge by Bro .

English lodge that vve have ever seen it worked in—the Temperance-in the-East—initiated Mr . Edward Cook . Bro . C . T . Tijou , Asst . Purst . of the Grand Lodge of England , was present , and was accorded Grand honours , for which he returned thanks . Tijou congratulated the lodge on its handsome quarters , and also upon the real Masonic spirit that must have influenced the brethren to furnish the lodije so admirably . In a large lodge , in a large town he should not have been surprised , hut in a small lodge

like that , and in a small town like Rainham , it not only surprised but delighted him , and he felt sure that at its new home the lodge would soon become one of the most influential in the Province of Essex . No less than live nominations of candidates vvere made for the next meeting , and then the lodge vvas closed . A really superb banquet was provided by llro . Joyce , and

splendidly served , vvhich vvas much appreciated . Bro . Joyce also provided several professional brethren to aid the harmony , and a most enjoyable evening was spent . Hibernia Lodge ( No . 431 ) . —We can imagine no greather pleasure or satisfation than for a father to be a witness of and to assist at the installation into the chair of W . M . of his own son , but when that installation is attended with surroundings rendering the ceremony doubly impressive , and that the proceedings were honoured vvith the presence of the highest and most distinguished of the

leaders of the Order then , indeed , the cup of satisfaction must be full to the brim , and parental pride , and parental pleasure be feelings worthy of honest envy and fraternal admiration . Such may well have filled the heart of that excellent and popular brother Richard Clowes , on Friday , the 9 th inst ., when his son , Bro . Percy Clowes , vvas installed by special dispensation into the chair of the lodge by Bro .
