In the adjoining banqueting room of the hotel the Iodge and its visitors enjoyed a most excellent dinner , prepared with characteristic judgment and completeness by Bro . Capt . Purkiss , V . D . Atter the banquet , in the intervals of the usual loyal and fraternal toasts , a most excellent entertainment was furnished by various brethren . Bro . H . T . Gomm sang the " Bedouin ' s Love Song " and Tosti ' s " Good-bye " most admirably . The initiate
signalled his first appearance in Iodge by singing ' The Jovial Monk " and other songs with capital effect . Bro . W . J . Gomm , P . M ., delighted his audience with " Love can come in at tbe Window " j Bro . Furness sang " Brighton " ; Bro . Carl Brandt , the well-known basso , evoked an ovation by his magnificent rendering of " The Landlord ' s Daughter , " " Dusky Darlin' , " and " The Window at Windsor " ; and Bro . H . T . Johnson recited . Kipling ' s Ballad of " Fishers Boarding House . "
The banquet was capitally selected and served , with wines of the choicest brands and in abundance . The entertainment was of a very high order , and the speeches , thoug ' i commendably brief , were all in the happiest vein . Altogether , this flourishing lodge may be congratulated upon having added to its records another most eminently successful and enjoyable meeting .

Upon the removal of the cloth , the customary loyal and Craft toasts were duly honoured .
" The Health of the Grand Officers " was coupled with the names of Bros , the Ven . Archdeacon Sinclair and J . Strachan , Q . C . The former , in the course of his eloquent remarks , said that although not a member of the important and influential Ward of Farringdon Without yet he was a very close neighbour to it . He had recently been installed as the first W . M . of the St . Paul ' s Lodge , an institution which he hoped would prosper and reflect credit on the Craft . The W . M . that evening had spoken of the services of Lords Amherst and
Warwick , and the importance of having such distinguished men and Masons at the head of the executive Grand Lodge . He quite agreed with those remarks . The speaker then went on to compare the social amenities of Freemasonry with the love feast of the early Christians . He trusted that the spirit of fraternal affection and the love of unity that were so beautiful in themselves would ever characterise the members of this ancient Institution . He concluded by congratulating the W . M . and his officers on their exceptionally good working . Bro . Strachan ' s reply was of a humorous nature . After cordially endorsing the
remarks of the first speaker , he went on to speak of the longevity of those brethren who had held the oflice of Grand Registrar . It led him to hope that although in the prime of life , his days might be lengthened so as to enable him in the distant future to search the records of the lodge prior to his recommending its claim for a centenary warrant . He congratulated the lodge upon possessing an excellent Master and a most efficient staff of officers . It was also to be congratulated that notwithstanding 21 vears had
passed away , there were still three founders on the active list , and might those worthy brethren be spared many years to extend their sphere of useful work . In conclusion , he trusted that those members not yet in office would endeavour to acquire Masonic knowledge , so that when their time arrived they would be in a position to emulate the blight example of their predecessors , and thus carry on the work so admirably begun . On behalf of his colleagues and himself he cordially thanked the lodge for a very pleasant and instructive evening .
The toast of "The W . M . " was proposed by the I . P . M ., and was duly acknowledged by Bro . Wit . " The Health of the Initiate " followed , and was briefly responded to by Bro . Hampton . The toast of "The Masonic Institutions" was proposed by Bro . H . ( . Lardner , P . M ., in welt chosen terms , and was coupled with the name of Bro . J . Terry , whose eloquent utterances on so important a subject as that of Masonic Charity are so wellknown and so highl y respected . Bro . J . Terry , in response , was genial , witty , and interesting .
"The Health of the Visitors" was coupled with the names of Bros . Parkinson , Clinds , Nicholls , Standing , and the Kev . F . C B . Darwent , who respectively replied . "The Past Masters" and "The Officers , " terminated the proceedings . An excellent programme of music was provided by Bro . Alfred Moore , assisted by Madame Ada Patterson , Miss Florence Venning , Bro . Frank Tebbutt , and Dr . F . Abernethy . The chief items being " Genevieve , " " A jovial monk am I , " " A May morning , " and "Snowdrops . "
The proceedings from first to last passed off without a hitch , and the W . M ., Treasurer , and Secretary are to be congratulated on the great success that attended the important event of the 21 st anniversary of No . 1745 .

Charlton , in proposing "The Health of the W . M ., " alluded to the recent honour that had been conferred upon him by Prov . Grand Lodge in appointing him as Deputy Registrar of the province . He ( Bro . Carlton ) said he knew he was echoing the sentiments of all the brethren of the lodge when he said they were proud of their VV . M . and proud of the high position he had attained .

The first installation meeting after consecration of the above took place on the 14 th inst . at the Masonic Hall , Hope-street , Liverpool , where there was a good attendance of members and visitors . Upon the removal of the cloth , the customary loyal and Craft toasts were duly honoured .
" The Health of the Grand Officers " was coupled with the names of Bros , the Ven . Archdeacon Sinclair and J . Strachan , Q . C . The former , in the course of his eloquent remarks , said that although not a member of the important and influential Ward of Farringdon Without yet he was a very close neighbour to it . He had recently been installed as the first W . M . of the St . Paul ' s Lodge , an institution which he hoped would prosper and reflect credit on the Craft . The W . M . that evening had spoken of the services of Lords Amherst and
Warwick , and the importance of having such distinguished men and Masons at the head of the executive Grand Lodge . He quite agreed with those remarks . The speaker then went on to compare the social amenities of Freemasonry with the love feast of the early Christians . He trusted that the spirit of fraternal affection and the love of unity that were so beautiful in themselves would ever characterise the members of this ancient Institution . He concluded by congratulating the W . M . and his officers on their exceptionally good working . Bro . Strachan ' s reply was of a humorous nature . After cordially endorsing the
remarks of the first speaker , he went on to speak of the longevity of those brethren who had held the oflice of Grand Registrar . It led him to hope that although in the prime of life , his days might be lengthened so as to enable him in the distant future to search the records of the lodge prior to his recommending its claim for a centenary warrant . He congratulated the lodge upon possessing an excellent Master and a most efficient staff of officers . It was also to be congratulated that notwithstanding 21 vears had
passed away , there were still three founders on the active list , and might those worthy brethren be spared many years to extend their sphere of useful work . In conclusion , he trusted that those members not yet in office would endeavour to acquire Masonic knowledge , so that when their time arrived they would be in a position to emulate the blight example of their predecessors , and thus carry on the work so admirably begun . On behalf of his colleagues and himself he cordially thanked the lodge for a very pleasant and instructive evening .
The toast of "The W . M . " was proposed by the I . P . M ., and was duly acknowledged by Bro . Wit . " The Health of the Initiate " followed , and was briefly responded to by Bro . Hampton . The toast of "The Masonic Institutions" was proposed by Bro . H . ( . Lardner , P . M ., in welt chosen terms , and was coupled with the name of Bro . J . Terry , whose eloquent utterances on so important a subject as that of Masonic Charity are so wellknown and so highl y respected . Bro . J . Terry , in response , was genial , witty , and interesting .
"The Health of the Visitors" was coupled with the names of Bros . Parkinson , Clinds , Nicholls , Standing , and the Kev . F . C B . Darwent , who respectively replied . "The Past Masters" and "The Officers , " terminated the proceedings . An excellent programme of music was provided by Bro . Alfred Moore , assisted by Madame Ada Patterson , Miss Florence Venning , Bro . Frank Tebbutt , and Dr . F . Abernethy . The chief items being " Genevieve , " " A jovial monk am I , " " A May morning , " and "Snowdrops . "
The proceedings from first to last passed off without a hitch , and the W . M ., Treasurer , and Secretary are to be congratulated on the great success that attended the important event of the 21 st anniversary of No . 1745 .
