Provincial Grand Lodge Of North And East Yorkshire.

of Provincial G-and Lodge to the Worshipful Master and membsrs of the St . Germain Lodge for their kindness and hospitality , and for the excellent arrangements for our convenience ; to the Rev . Past Prov . Grand Chaplain for his admirable discourse ; to the Past Prov . Grand Organist for his

beautiful and appropriate anthem , and to the Rev . the Vicar of Selby for granting the use of the sacred edifice . No invitation having been received for next year's meeting , those lodges desirous of entertaining Prov . Grand Lodge will kindly communicate with the Prov . Grand Secretary . The Prov . Grand Lodge was then closed .

A banquet , at which the Prov . Grand Master presided , was subsequently held at the Londesborough Arms . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , and a most agreeable evening was spent .

By direction of Lord Harlech , a Grand Lodge of the Province of North Wales was held at Menai Bridge on the 7 th inst . Owing to the limi ' . ed accommodation of the lodge room at the Victoria Hotel , where ' the Anglesey brethren mtet , it was found necessary to fit up the New Hall , arrangements

being admirably carried out by Bros . Foster , W . M . ; Ross , P . M . ; Carey , and Fendwick . In the absence of Bro . Rowlands , 606 , Bro . in their returns , and that there was a good balance in hand . Reference was made to the decease of Bro . Salmon , who had so ably carried out the duties of Treasurer of the province from its formation until the date of his decease . It would , added the Committee , be " long before his cheery presence in our midst will be forgotten ; nothing that we can say will add to the respect in

which his memory will be borne . " On the propcsil of Bro . THOMAS EDWARDS , a Provincial Grand Charity Committee was formed . After the closing of the Provincial Grand Lodge , an adjournment was made to the George Hotel , where the banquet was served , covers being laid for 120 , a splendid menu being furnished by Bro . Baxter .

During the banquet a reed and string band , under Bro . Frank Barlow , S . W . 1113 , played a selection of popular music , after which a quartette party from Bangor Cathedral—Messrs . J . R . Morgan , F . W . Norcup , J , Jevons , and C . James—under the direction of Bro . T . Westlake Morgan , the Cathedral Organist , sang the following pieces : " The Old Folks at Home , " "A Franklyn's Dogge , " "Hail ! Smiling Morn , " and " When Evening ' s Twilight . " The next Provincial Grand Lodge will b » 'held at Wrexham .

Provincial Grand Lodge Of Norfolk.

PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF NORFOLK .

The annual meeting of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held on Thursday , the Sth inst ., at Lynn Town Hall . The members of the different lodges assembled in the Provincial Grand Lodge Room , under their respective banners , and half-an-hour later Bro . Lord Suffield , P . G . M ., preceded by his Prov . Grand Officers , entered and opened the lodge . Th ° following letter was read : Marlborough House , Pall Mall , S . W .

Sir Francis Knollys is directed by the Prince of Wales to convey his Royal Highness ' s best thanks to the P . G . M . and brethren of the Province of Norfolk for the kind fraternal expressions contained in their address of congratulation to his Royal Highness on the occasion of the birth of his Royal Highness ' s grandson .

Bro . H . G . BARWELL , P . P . S . G . W ., reported on the work of the Ch uities ' Committee , and he referred to the fact that at the 53 rd Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution held early this year the subscriptions then amounted to ^ 14 , 133 6 ; . At the 107111 Festival for the Girls' School the sum of £ 16 , 016 4 s . 6 d . was received , Bro . H . J .

Sparkes taking up from the Province of Norfolk £ 205 5 s . ; while at the 97 th Festival on behalf of the Boys' School , held on the 3 rd of last month , the list of donations amounted to £ 18 , 775 12 s . 6 d . As Prov . Grand Treasurer for the ensuing year Bro . George William Page , P . M ., P . P . G . Reg ., had been nominated , and was unanimously elected . The P . G . At four o'clock the brethren , in full regalia , marched in procession to St . Margaret's Church , where a special choral service was conducted by the vicar . The proper Psalms chosen were the cxxii ., cxxxiii ., and cxxxiv ., and these , as well as the three hymns , were peculiarly appropriate to the occasion . The lesson was taken from 1 st Corinthians , xii „ and was read by Bro . the

Rev . G . Sharley , oneof theP . G . Chaplains . The Rev . E . N . G . Williams preached the sermon , basing his remarks on the first verse of the 130 th Psalm— " Behold how good and joyful a thing it is , brethren , to dwell together in unity . " The offertory was devoted to the Organ Restoration Fund .

At five o'clock the brethren sat down to a banquet , Bro . Lord Suffield m the chair . Bro . Sir FRANCIS BOILEAU , in submitting " The Health of the R . W . Provincial Grand Master , " said in their P . G . M . the brethren had the basis of all Masonry , and he was imbued with all its essential feelings and attributes .

The toast was drunk with full Masonic honours . In reply , Bro . Lord SUFFIELD said he was deeply touched by the good feeling that had been displayed towards him ; no matter of what rank or station , everyone had showed him kindness . " The Health of the Deputy Prov . Grand Master ' ' was enthusiastically drunk at the instance of Bro . Lord Suffield . Other toasts were given . The musical arrangements were in the hands of Bro . Brockbank , Bros , the Rev . E . J . Alvis , W . E . Tuddcnham , and A . S . Wilde ably assisting .

On Wednesday , the 7 th inst ., the Grand Superintendent of the above province , Comp . F . A . Philbrick , Q . C , Grand Registrar of England , met the companions of his province at Maldon to lake stock of the progress made in Royal Arch Masonry during the past year , and make the customary

appointments for the due conduct of the affairs of the province for the ensuing year . The chapter was held in that part of the picturesque ruined church of St . Peter known as St . Peter Masonic Hall under the banner ol the Plume Chapter , of which Comp . J . Sadler is M . E . Z . for the year . A

The report of the Financial Committee , submitted by Bros . C . K . Benson , H . A . Sieer , and J . G . Twyford , stated that all the lodges had sent

in their returns , and that there was a good balance in hand . Reference was made to the decease of Bro . Salmon , who had so ably carried out the duties of Treasurer of the province from its formation until the date of his decease . It would , added the Committee , be " long before his cheery presence in our midst will be forgotten ; nothing that we can say will add to the respect in

which his memory will be borne . " On the propcsil of Bro . THOMAS EDWARDS , a Provincial Grand Charity Committee was formed . After the closing of the Provincial Grand Lodge , an adjournment was made to the George Hotel , where the banquet was served , covers being laid for 120 , a splendid menu being furnished by Bro . Baxter .

During the banquet a reed and string band , under Bro . Frank Barlow , S . W . 1113 , played a selection of popular music , after which a quartette party from Bangor Cathedral—Messrs . J . R . Morgan , F . W . Norcup , J , Jevons , and C . James—under the direction of Bro . T . Westlake Morgan , the Cathedral Organist , sang the following pieces : " The Old Folks at Home , " "A Franklyn's Dogge , " "Hail ! Smiling Morn , " and " When Evening ' s Twilight . PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF NORFOLK .

The annual meeting of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held on Thursday , the Sth inst ., at Lynn Town Hall . The members of the different lodges assembled in the Provincial Grand Lodge Room , under their respective banners , and half-an-hour later Bro . Lord Suffield , P . G . M ., preceded by his Prov . Grand Officers , entered and opened the lodge . Th ° following letter was read : Marlborough House , Pall Mall , S . W .

Sir Francis Knollys is directed by the Prince of Wales to convey his Royal Highness ' s best thanks to the P . G . M . and brethren of the Province of Norfolk for the kind fraternal expressions contained in their address of congratulation to his Royal Highness on the occasion of the birth of his Royal Highness ' s grandson .

Bro . H . G . BARWELL , P . P . S . G . W ., reported on the work of the Ch uities ' Committee , and he referred to the fact that at the 53 rd Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution held early this year the subscriptions then amounted to ^ 14 , 133 6 ; . At the 107111 Festival for the Girls' School the sum of £ 16 , 016 4 s . 6 d . was received , Bro . H . J .

Sparkes taking up from the Province of Norfolk £ 205 5 s . ; while at the 97 th Festival on behalf of the Boys' School , held on the 3 rd of last month , the list of donations amounted to £ 18 , 775 12 s . 6 d . At four o'clock the brethren , in full regalia , marched in procession to St . Margaret's Church , where a special choral service was conducted by the vicar . The proper Psalms chosen were the cxxii ., cxxxiii ., and cxxxiv ., and these , as well as the three hymns , were peculiarly appropriate to the occasion . The lesson was taken from 1 st Corinthians , xii „ and was read by Bro . the

Rev . G . Sharley , oneof theP . G . Chaplains . The Rev . E . N . G . Williams preached the sermon , basing his remarks on the first verse of the 130 th Psalm— " Behold how good and joyful a thing it is , brethren , to dwell together in unity . " The offertory was devoted to the Organ Restoration Fund .

At five o'clock the brethren sat down to a banquet , Bro . Lord Suffield m the chair . Bro . Sir FRANCIS BOILEAU , in submitting " The Health of the R . W . Provincial Grand Master , " said in their P . G . M . the brethren had the basis of all Masonry , and he was imbued with all its essential feelings and attributes .

The toast was drunk with full Masonic honours . In reply , Bro . Lord SUFFIELD said he was deeply touched by the good feeling that had been displayed towards him ; no matter of what rank or station , everyone had showed him kindness . " The Health of the Deputy Prov . Grand Master ' ' was enthusiastically drunk at the instance of Bro . Lord Suffield . Other toasts were given . The musical arrangements were in the hands of Bro . Brockbank , Bros , the Rev . E . J . Alvis , W . E . Tuddcnham , and A . S . Wilde ably assisting .

On Wednesday , the 7 th inst ., the Grand Superintendent of the above province , Comp . F . A . Philbrick , Q . C , Grand Registrar of England , met the companions of his province at Maldon to lake stock of the progress made in Royal Arch Masonry during the past year , and make the customary

appointments for the due conduct of the affairs of the province for the ensuing year . The chapter was held in that part of the picturesque ruined church of St . Peter known as St . Peter Masonic Hall under the banner ol the Plume Chapter , of which Comp . J . Sadler is M . E . Z . for the year . A
