Masonic Notes .

The late annual meeting at Runcorn of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire was a great success , both as regards attendance and the several reports that were handed in of the work done during the past year .

These reports we had the pleasure of commenting upon quite recently , and , therefore , we need not say more respecting them than that our Cheshire brethren appear to have accepted the recommendations of the

newly-organised Committee of Benevolence , while the Provincial Grand Master was delighted beyond measure that they had so readily taken to heart the advice he gave them at last year ' s gathering at Stockport .

It is not surprising , indeed , that Bro . Lord Egerton of Tatton should have expressed himself well satisfied with the labours of the j > astyear . The new Committee of Benevolence has undoubtedly done its work admirably , and we trust it will derive encouragement from its

past success to continue in the path it has marked out for itself . We have frequently had occasion to apologise for the comparative smallness of the contributions from this Province to the Central Masonic Charities on the ground that it was fully justified in

The late annual meeting at Runcorn of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire was a great success , both as regards attendance and the several reports that were handed in of the work done during the past year .

These reports we had the pleasure of commenting upon quite recently , and , therefore , we need not say more respecting them than that our Cheshire brethren appear to have accepted the recommendations of the

newly-organised Committee of Benevolence , while the Provincial Grand Master was delighted beyond measure that they had so readily taken to heart the advice he gave them at last year ' s gathering at Stockport .

It is not surprising , indeed , that Bro . Lord Egerton of Tatton should have expressed himself well satisfied with the labours of the j > astyear . The new Committee of Benevolence has undoubtedly done its work admirably , and we trust it will derive encouragement from its

past success to continue in the path it has marked out for itself . We have frequently had occasion to apologise for the comparative smallness of the contributions from this Province to the Central Masonic Charities on the ground that it was fully justified in
