As no notice had been given it was impossible to vote any money to Charities but in the Provincial Grand Chapter , Comp . Col . BRYMER suggested the province , or rather those members who were present , should send something for the Lord Mayor ' s Fund for the refugees in South Africa , buf left the matter to be discussed at the banquet . This took place at the Imperial Burdon Hotel , where Bro . Sefton Smith had provided an excellent repast , which was graced by the presence of the

Three Principals and a large number of the companions . In speaking on Masonic Charity , Comp . ZILLWOOD MILLEDGE , P . Z . 170 , Prov . G . Charity Steward , referred to the question of the Lord Mayor's Fund for the refugees in South Africa , and on a collection being made the sum ol £ 12 was obtained , which was at once telegraphed to London . Thus ended a very successful gathering . The G . SUPERINTENDENT ¦ announced he should hold his next meeting at Chapter No . 707 , Beaminster .

PROVINCIAL GRAND MARK LODGE OF DORSET .

In fine weather this Prov . Grand Lodge was held on the 8 th instant , under the Presidency of the Right Worshipful Prov . Grand Master , Col . W . E . Brymer , M . P ., and his Deputy , Bro . H . Tizard George . There was a full attendance of officers and members , together with a number of Past Provincial Officers . The members of AH Souls , Weymouth , No . 126 , under whose banner the meeting was held , exhibited their usual hospitality , and the arrangements made were all that could be desired .

The Treasurer ' s accounts were presented , and showed a satisfactory balance in hand , and on the proposition of Bro . S . R . BASKETT , P . P . G . S . W ., seconded by Bro . WHIMSY BAKER , P . P . G . S . W ., they were received and adopted . This province for some two years has been without a Register of Marks , which by some reason has got lost or mislaid . At the meeting at Wareham last year , Bro . Sidny Spark iMilledge , 126 , P . G . M . O ., offered to compile

and present at the next meeting of Prov . Grand Lodge a Register of brethren advanced to the Mark Degree in the Province of Dorset since the introduction of that Degree into that province , This he did on the 8 th instant . The list is contained in a superb volume especially prepared under Bro . Milledge ' s direction , and contains what to all intents and purposes is a history of every Mark brother in Dorset from the earliest times to the present .

The PROV . GRAND MASTER , in suitable terms , acknowledged the valuable gift , and the kindness exhibited by Bro . Milledge in his usual way in compiling and presenting so valuable a gift to the province . Bro . G . Habgood , 99 , was re-elected Treasurer , the Audit Committee was appointed , the Tyler was re-appointed , and the Prov . Grand Master then invested his officers as follows :

CONSECRATION OF THE UNITED SERVICE LODGE OF ROYAL ARK MARINERS , No . 69 .

The consecration of the above lodge was held at New Brompton on Wednesday , the 7 th instant . An Ark Mariners Lodge having been opened at 4 p . m ., the Prov . Grand Mark Master of Kent , Lord Dungarvan , was admitted and saluted in due form . Eight brethren of the United Service Mark Lodge were then elevated by Bro . J . Percy White , P . C . N . 364 , acting as N . ; assisted by Bros . R . J . Beamish , P . C . N . 364 , J . ; E . B . Wilks , W . C . N . 364 , S . ; E . Lake and I , R . Morean , Deacons ; and J . Kearney , G .

THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER . past services of the energetic and . genial Secretary , Bro . W . R . Jeffray , P . M . The W . M ., in presenting a Past Masters jewel to Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., stated that his next task was a very important and pleasing one , and he hoped the small token Would ever remind the I . P . M . of the high esteem and regard in which he was held by them all and that he would accept the jewel as a slight return for his great services to the lodge . He had well earned it , and they were sure it could not be bestowed on one more worthy to wear it , as he had fulfilled everything they expected of him and his efforts for the

lodge were greatly appreciated . In acknowledging the jewel , Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., stated that the little he had done for the lodge was his very best , and to receive the thanks of the W . M . and the members was the greatest honour he could wish . Five gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meetin ; , and after other business the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to a recherchi banquet , which . fully maintained the great reputation of the Great Eastern Hotel , and it was well served under the superintendence of Bro . H . Ward .

The usual loyal and Masonic toasts having been duly honoured , Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., proposed « The Health of the W . M ., Bra . W . F . Fenton-Jones , " and said they had installed that evening a mist enthusiastic M ison , and no one was more zealous . He was master of the ritual , and had the interest of the lodge at heart , was a very good fellow , and it would be difficult to find anyone better to occupy the chair , and they all wished him every happiness and a very prosperous year of office . THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER . past services of the energetic and . genial Secretary , Bro . W . R . Jeffray , P . M . The W . M ., in presenting a Past Masters jewel to Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., stated that his next task was a very important and pleasing one , and he hoped the small token Would ever remind the I . P . M . of the high esteem and regard in which he was held by them all and that he would accept the jewel as a slight return for his great services to the lodge . He had well earned it , and they were sure it could not be bestowed on one more worthy to wear it , as he had fulfilled everything they expected of him and his efforts for the

lodge were greatly appreciated . In acknowledging the jewel , Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., stated that the little he had done for the lodge was his very best , and to receive the thanks of the W . M . and the members was the greatest honour he could wish . Five gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meetin ; , and after other business the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to a recherchi banquet , which . fully maintained the great reputation of the Great Eastern Hotel , and it was well served under the superintendence of Bro . H . Ward .

The usual loyal and Masonic toasts having been duly honoured , Bro . W . A . Finch , I . P . M ., proposed « The Health of the W . M ., Bra . W . F . Fenton-Jones , " and said they had installed that evening a mist enthusiastic M ison , and no one was more zealous . He was master of the ritual , and had the interest of the lodge at heart , was a very good fellow , and it would be difficult to find anyone better to occupy the chair , and they all wished him every happiness and a very prosperous year of office .
