BRO . ENOCH TERRY CARSON . I am very sorry to state that my old and esteemed friend Enoch Terry Carson , of Cincinnati , U . S . A ., died on the 23 rd ult . He has been ill for some time , but the collapse came all too soon for his many friends . Bro . Carson had no superior as a Masonic Bibliographer , and had collected a most valuable library relating to the Craft , which he disposed of to another ardent and distinguished collector a few weeks prior to his regretted decease .

We have long worked together in all matters appertaining to the Biblio . graphy of the Brotherhood , and his services , especially in relation to Masonic books and MSS ., have been of great value . We shall miss him very much .

Gordon Robbins , to whose recent and lamented death we referred in our Notes of last week , was initiated in the Apollo University Lodge , No . 357 , Oxford , in 1 S 63 , and was appointed Prov . G . Steward in 1886 , and in the following year Prov . G . D . of C . Ox f ordshire . In November , 1866 , he joined the University Lodge , No . 1118 ; and in 1880 had the honour of being installed

its W . Master . In 1877 he joined the Westminster and Keystone Lodge , No . 10 , and occupied the chair in 1884 . He was also a member of the Carnarvon Lodge , No . 708 , Hampton Court , and had served it in the capacity of Treasurer . In 18 93 his Royal Highness the M . W . G . M . was pleased to appoint him S . G . Deacon in recognition of his many services . He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in the Alfred Chapter , No . 340 , Oxford , in June , 1866 ; and , having subsequently been elected a joining member of the University Chapter , No . Hi 8 , and Westminster

and Keystone Chapter , No . 18 , was installed M . E . Z , of the former in 18 S 4 and 1 SS 5 , and of the latter in 18 S 6 . In 1893 he was appointed Dep . G . Registrar in Supreme Grand Chapter . He was a member of the Mark Degree , and in 18 90 was appointed G . S . O . ; while in the Order of the Temple he ranked as P . E . P . of the Oxford and Cambridge University Preceptory , and was appointed G . Herald

in 1 S 93 ; and in the A . and A . Rite as Past M . W . S . of the Oxford and Cambrid ge University Chapter of Rose Croix , and had taken the 31 . He was a liberal supporter of our Institutions , had served several Stewardships for the Benevolent and Girls' Institutions , and had qualified as Vice Patron of the Benevolent Institution , Vice President of the Girls' School , and Life Subscriber of tho Institution for Boys . ————

FUNERAL OF BRO . T . HEATH , P . M . With many marks of sympathy and esteem , the funeral of Bro . Thos . Heath , solicitor , took place on the 9 th inst ., at Plymouth Cemetery . Leaving the residence of the deceased , in St . Aubyn-street , Devenport , shortly before 11 o ' clock , the cortege proceeded direct to the Cemetery chapel , where the first portion of the burial service was impressively read by the Rev . J . Knowles , Nonconformist Chaplain . From the chapel the body , enclosed in an oak coffin with an elm shell ,

arid covered with beautiful wreaths , was conveyed to the famil y vault , where the interment took place , Mr . Knowles again officiating . The principal mourners were Mr . J . Pervical Heath ( son ) , Mr . John Heath ( brother ) , and Mr . E . J . Bath ( brother-in-law ) . Captain de Gruchy , and Messrs . Onesimus Dorey , T . Harris , and G . F . Watson ( directors ) represented the Anglo-French Steamship Company , of which deceased was Chairman ; Messrs . F . W . Hayes , I . Turpin , and F Saunders attended on behalf of the St . Aubyn Ward Conservative Association , of which deceased was for many years Treasurer ; Mr . A . J . Roberts represented the

Central Conservative Association at Devonport , with which Bro . Heath was also connected ; and Bro . R . Kent represented the Carew Lodge , No . 1136 , of which he was a Past Master . Among others present were Dr . McElwaine and Messrs . W . Lidstone , M . E . Baxter , J . T . Luxon , G . J . Kingdon , W . Rattenbury , Allen , Worsfol , C . A . Organ , Millman , Parsons , C . H . Hoare , F . N . Roach , T . Shears , J . Woodman , R . Truscott , and W . Trenoweth . Among the floral tributes were very beautiful wreaths from the directors of the Anglo-French Steamship Company , the ollicers of the Devonport Conservative and Unionist Association , and relatives and friends .

FUNERAL OF BRO . WALTER OGILVY . The remains of Bro . Walter Ogilvy , who died on the 4 th inst ., and who enjoyed the unique distinction of being the oldest Freemason in Scotland , were interred in the New Cemetery on Wednesday , the 8 th inst ., in the presence of a large concourse of mourners . The cortege left deceased ' s residence in Clerkstreet , where a short funeral service was conducted by the Rev . John A . Clark , Brechin Cathedral , at a quarter past one , the funeral being witnessed by large

numbers en route , The Masonic lodges turned out in regalia in honour of their deceased brother , while the Guildry Incorporation were represented by Mr . D ^ vid Lamb , Dean , and Mr .
