After the lodge had been closed about 40 brethren adjourned to the banquet room and partook of a very excellent banquet , supplied by Bro , A . T . DartnaU . During the evening theW . M . gave the usual loyal and Masonic toasts .

At the conclusion of the business thebrethren adjourned

to a banquet provided by Bo . Casey . The most interesting portion of the after-dinner proceedings was ihe presentation of an electro-plated tea and coffee service and silver salver to Bro . P . B . Gee , in recognition of his very valuable labours to the Neptune Lodge for a long series of years . The service and salver weie supplied by Messrs . Elkington and Co ., Church . street , and

on the salver was the following inscription : " Presented , together with a tea and coffee service , by the members of the Neptune I . odge , No . 1264 , to Bro . Peter Berriman Gee , P . M ., P . P . G . S . B ., as a mark of esteem on his retirement from the Treasurership of the Iodge after a service of ten years . Liverpool , June Cth , 1 S 87 . " Bro . C . Fothergill , P . M ., in making the presentation ,

referred in very sympathetic terms to the illness which prevented Bro . Gee from being present that evening , and spoke of him as one of the founders of the lodge , as an invaluable Treasurer for ten years , and a worthy preceptor of the lodgp of instruction for a considerable period . The

handsome gift was received and acknowledged , on Bro . Gee ' s behalf , by his successor to the Treasurership ( Bro . Cotter ) . A valuable P . M . ' s jewel was also presented to the I . P . M ., Bro . Ashworth , and in the course of the evening songs were given by a number of members and visitors .

HAMPTON COURT . —Campbell Lodge ( No . 1415 J . —A meeting of this lodge was held on Saturday , the nth inst ., atthe Mitre Hotel , when there were present Bros . H . Pritchard , W . M . ; J . W . Bro . ) . Gilbert , Tyler . A P . M . jewel was voted to Bro . Pritchard , who has shown so much zeal and ability in all he has undertaken , and by his excellent working and uniform kindness to all has won golden opinions . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet , after which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured .

re-elected Trea-:., and Bro . Lackland , Tyler . Bros . Wheeler , Mills , Lee , and Griffiths were elected to serve on the Audit Committee . It was then unanimously resolvtd that a Past Master ' s jewel of the value of ten guineas should be presented to Bro . Maule , for the able manner in vvhich he had carried out the duties of W . M . during the year , and as a mark of the esteem of the brethren . Bro .

Maule having suitably returned thanks , Bro . Weston proposed , and Bro . Spinks seconded , that a li-tter of condolence be sent to our esteemed Deputy Prov . Grand Master , Bro . J . S . Eastes , on the great b < -reavement he has iust sustained in the loss of his beloved wife . This was carried " nem . con ., " universal regret being expressed for Bro . Eastes , who is , as he deserves , very popular in

this section of the province . Th- ; lodge was then closed , and the brethren supped together , and on re-assembling around the social board the usual loyal , Grand Lodge , and provincial toists were honoured . An especial toast was given to Bro Oiopsr , who nas that day gazetted Lieutenant and Quartermaster Royal Artillery . It was drunk with much

heaitiness , and he was warmly congratulated on receiving her Majesty ' s commission . "The Health of Ihe VV . M . elect" was also drunk with enthusiasm , and Bros . Cooper and Gooding having severaWv and respectively responded , theTykv ' s toast

BRIGHTON .-Stanford Lodge ( No . 1947 ) . — The members of this lodge held their usual monthly meeting at the Town Hall , Hove , on Wednesday , the Sth in ; t . The principal feature of the evening was Ihe working of the sections of the Second Lecture , uhirh was successful ) }' carried out , the VV . M ., Bio . L . R . Styer , acting as Preceptor , and the following members of the lodge dividing

the wmk between them , viz .: Bros . J . H . Glassington , J D ., acting S . VV . ; F . Willard , acting J . W . ; J . W . Stride , P . M . 315 , Treasurer ; T . Bullen , Stwd ., acting J . D . ; and A . F . Lemette acting I . G . As at the previous meeting when the sections of the First Lecture were worked there was a larg * e attendance of visitors , who were highly gratified at the opportunity afforded them of witnessing so

interesting a ceremony . At the conclusion of the work , Mr . Walter Potter was initiated into the Order , the ceremony being ably performed by the W . M ., Bro . Stride , Treasurer , giving the charge in a very impressive manner . The lodge beina duly closed , the brethren adjourned , and

exhausted nature having been recruited , ( he remainder of the evening was devoted to music and recitations , Bro . W . Norman Roe , P . P . G . O ., accompanying . The next meeting of the lodge will take place on the second Wednesday in October , when the sections of the 1 hird Degree will be worked .

JUSTICE I . ODGE ( No . 14 )) . —A meeting was held on Thursday , the oth inst ., at the Brown Bear , High-street , Deptford , when there were present Bros . I . eng , W . M . ; Dandridge , S . W . ; Vatckv , J . W . ; S . R . Speight , P . M ., Sec ; Morgan , S . D . ; Faulkner , J . D . ; Turpin , I . G . j Walters , Hicks , Balsdou , Botrett , and Bellchamber , The ludge was opened in the First Degree , and the minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Borrett personating the candidate .

The lodge was then called off , and , on resuming , thc usual questions leading to the Second Degree were duly answered by Bro . Bellchamber . The lodge was opened iu the Second Degree , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed . The usual questions leading to tlie Third Degree were then answered by the brethren and afterwards bv Bro . Hicks . The lodge was resumed to the First Degree , and Bro . Dandridge was elected W . M . for the ensuing week . All business being ended , the lodge was closed .

PERCY LODGE ( No . 19 S ) . —A meeting was held at Uro . Langdale's , the Jolly Farmers , Snuthgate-rrad . N ., on Saturdav , the nth instant . Present : Bros . Hodges , W . M ., Lone , S . 01 the last meeting were read ana confirmed . Bro . Imlay kindly acting as candidate for passing , gave proofs of his proficiency , and was entrusted . Lodge was advanced , and the ceremony of passing rehearsed by the W . M . in a very excellent manner . Bro . Fenner worked the 1 st , and Bro . Cohen lhe 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 U 1 , and 5 th Sections of the Lecture , assisted by the brethren . Lodge being resumed to

the hirst Degree , Bros . A . Miiller , 141 , and W . Boru , 1744 , were proposed and duly elected members . Bro . Lone was elected VV . M . for the next fortnight , as the brethren of the Queen ' s Westmins'er and St . Maryleb ne Lodge of Instruction will work the Fifteen Sections on Saturday , the 18 th inst , by spec al invite of this lodge , Loiite opens at 6 . 30 . Lodge was then closed .

FITZ ROY LODGE ( No . 569 ) . —A most successful working of the Fifteen Sections was performed at this lodge on the Sth inst ., under the presidency o £ Bro . Jas . Boulton , P . M . 28 and 1036 , who had been invited to undertake the task on the occasion of the opening of the lodge of instruction in connection with the mother lodge . A large and appreciative gathering of the brethren met on thc occasion , who expressed themselves much delighted at the intellectual treat afforded them .

HYDE PARK LODGE ( No . 142 J ) . —A meeting was held on Monday , the Gth inst ., at the Porchester Hotel , Leinster-place , Cleveland-square , Porchester-terrace , Paddington , W . Present : Bros . Lodge resumed to the First Degree On rising for the lirst time , Bro . Forscutt proposed that Bro . Alfred John Ray , 144 , become a joining member of this lodge of instruction ; seconded by B-o . G . F . Swan . Bro . G . Reynolds , Sec , proposed th 't Bro . G . VV . Cumberpatch , 21 9 1 , also become a joining member of this lodge of

instruction ; seconded by Bro . F . Keelge . Both br ; tnrcn were unanimously elected . On rising for the second time , Bro . W . C . Smith proposed that Bro . A . Bullen be W . M . for the ensuing week—seconded by the J . W ., and carried unanimously . The VV . M . elect was pleased to appoint his officers in rotation . On rising for the third time , Bro . VV . C . Smith proposed th t a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes to Bro . VV . Wingham for the very able and efficient manner in which he had carried out the duties of W . M . in this

lodge of instruction for the first time . B'o . VV . Wingh im was well known in the south , and that night he had given great proof that he was a good and careful worker . His working had given great pleasure to aM the brethren present , and he hoped that liro . VV . Wingham would be often amongst them . It is well known that the W . M . is a very efficient worker , and everyone was gratified , and he hoped that Bro . VV . Wingham would accept this vote of thanks as a small recognition of his abilities . Seconded by Bra . T . A . Dickson , and carried unanimously . The W . M ., in

reply , said he thanked their wortln Preceptor for the very kind and flattering remarks he had made with respect to himself . He had always had a great wish to be amongst them , and it was to Bro , G . Reynolds he owed his introduction . All connected with the lodge of instruction worked amicably together . He certainly must say the Covent Garden Lodge of Instruction was w ^ nhy of every snecess , and he would endeavour to be among-t them often and render what assistance he could . Nothing further offering for the good of Freemasonry , the lodge was closed and adjourned .

KENSINGTON LODGE ( No . 1767 ) . —A meeting was held on the 14 th inst ., at the Scarsdale Arms , Edwardes-square , Kensington , VV . Present : Bros . Hubbard , VV . M . ; W . C . Williams , S . VV . ; Dresden , J . W . ; J . H . Neville , S . D . ; Swanson , J . D . ; C . Woods , I . G . ; Keene , P . M ., acting Preceptor ; Wildes , Dimsdale , Grelech , Wood , P . M . ; and P . J . on the salver was the following inscription : " Presented , together with a tea and coffee service , by the members of the Neptune I . odge , No . 1264 , to Bro . Peter Berriman Gee , P . M ., P . M ., in making the presentation ,

referred in very sympathetic terms to the illness which prevented Bro . Gee from being present that evening , and spoke of him as one of the founders of the lodge , as an invaluable Treasurer for ten years , and a worthy preceptor of the lodgp of instruction for a considerable period . The

handsome gift was received and acknowledged , on Bro . Gee ' s behalf , by his successor to the Treasurership ( Bro . Cotter ) . A valuable P . M . ' s jewel was also presented to the I . P . M ., Bro . Ashworth , and in the course of the evening songs were given by a number of members and visitors .

It was then unanimously resolvtd that a Past Master ' s jewel of the value of ten guineas should be presented to Bro . Maule , for the able manner in vvhich he had carried out the duties of W . M . during the year , and as a mark of the esteem of the brethren . Bro .

Maule having suitably returned thanks , Bro . Weston proposed , and Bro . Spinks seconded , that a li-tter of condolence be sent to our esteemed Deputy Prov . Grand Master , Bro . J . S . Eastes , on the great b < -reavement he has iust sustained in the loss of his beloved wife . This was carried " nem . con ., " universal regret being expressed for Bro . Eastes , who is , as he deserves , very popular in

this section of the province . Th- ; lodge was then closed , and the brethren supped together , and on re-assembling around the social board the usual loyal , Grand Lodge , and provincial toists were honoured . An especial toast was given to Bro Oiopsr , who nas that day gazetted Lieutenant and Quartermaster Royal Artillery . It was drunk with much

Styer , acting as Preceptor , and the following members of the lodge dividing

His working had given great pleasure to aM the brethren present , and he hoped that liro . VV . Wingham would be often amongst them . It is well known that the W . M . is a very efficient worker , and everyone was gratified , and he hoped that Bro . VV . Wingham would accept this vote of thanks as a small recognition of his abilities . Seconded by Bra . T . A . Dickson , and carried unanimously . The W . M ., in

reply , said he thanked their wortln Preceptor for the very kind and flattering remarks he had made with respect to himself . He had always had a great wish to be amongst them , and it was to Bro , G . Reynolds he owed his introduction . All connected with the lodge of instruction worked amicably together . He certainly must say the Covent Garden Lodge of Instruction was w ^ nhy of every snecess , and he would endeavour to be among-t them often and render what assistance he could . Nothing further offering for the good of Freemasonry , the lodge was closed and adjourned .
