The Masonic Celebration Of Her Majesty's Jubilee At The Albert Hall.

( "Cheers . ) In England Ave have , in fact , seen parties united , and across the seas we havo seen an Empire greater than any over Avhich the ea ° * les of Romo ruled , greater than any Avhich fabulous story dreamt of , accomp lished , and built up by the sturdy hands and hearts of Englishmen . 1 ^ h been , Sir , a marvellous picture , and if some shadoAvs

occasional ly pass over the scene they simply Avai-n us that AVC are mortal , and that Ave hold the lease of our practical and Imperial life on the same conditions as individuals hold them , the conditions 0 f well-doing . But through all that time there has been onc central figure . There have been Part y AvatcliAA'ords and Party cries , there have been Ministers many , and great policies Avhich

have attracted attention , but they can all pass , and some ot them have passed almost out of thc Avorld . Bufc the Queen of England ! ias been through them all ; she has remained a great central figure , to Avhich the hearts and affections of her subjects have year by year more and more attached themselves , and Avhose influence lias

constantly grown . Sir , her sway in public and in private life has no equal , as Sovereign on thc Throne and as thc first lady of the land . And this I . can say Avith absolute truth , that there has never been any o-reat movement of kindliness , human charity , and sympath y in this country which has not rcceiA-ed support and help from our

o-racious Sovereign . ( Cheers ) . Sir , in conclusion , I will only echo the last Avords of that address , and assure your Royal Highness that from ihe bottom of our hearts AVC all pray thafc God , the great Xing of kings and Lord of lords , the Great Architect of the Universe , may continue in his keeping , and preserve for many years to rule over her faithful people in happiness and prosperity , thc Queen of England .

( Loud Cheers . ) The Earl of LATHOM ( Deputy Grand Master ) , in seconding the address , said—Most Worshipful Grand Master , your Royal Hi ghnesses , and Brethren , —I think I may safely say this is ono of the proudest moments of my life to be alloAved the privilege of seconding

the address to be presented to her Most Gracious Majesty by her Majesty ' s loyal and devoted subjects , the Freemasons of England , on the occasion of this her Jubilee year , the anniversary of the fiftieth year of her reign . ( Cheers . ) As a body AVO olaim , and I think justly

so , that AVO are surpassed by no other bod y in the world in loyalty—( cheers )—loyalty to tho Throne in the person of our beloved Sovereign , AVIIO has reigned OA * er us so long , so well , and so justly . ( Cheers . ) Brethren , A \* e are composed entirely of the sterner sex , and

1 think there is a sentiment , perhaps a special sentiment of poetry in the feelings with which we regard our Royal patron , who Ave venture to belieA * 'e looks with a kindly eye on the ancient mysteries of this Institution , and does not Avish to penetrate further into them , and that she is satisfied that the Heir to the Throne , our Most Worshi p ful

Grand Master , his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales , and several other members of the Royal Famil y belong to our Order —( cheers ) —and that its aim and object are not onl y those of peace and goodwill , but of Charit y and brotherl y loA e . On this p lea Ave venture to approach her Majest y and humbly pray that our loyal address may be graciousl y receiA r ed . Will you , Sir , convey to her Majesty our earnest

assurances of our sincere and respectful devotion to her Throne . ( Cheers . ) I think I shall not be out of p lace if on this occasion I say that in making those assurances I am but the mouthpiece of the whole bod y of Freemasons . ( Cheers . ) I beg to second the address

Avhich has been proposed by the Earl of Carnarvon . The Prince of WALES : Brethren , you haA * e heard the speeches that have been made by the Pro Grand Master and the Deputy Grand Master . Is it is your Avish that this address should be presented to the Queen ? ( Hear , hear . )
