M ., said on behalf of the officers and members of the lodge he had a very agreeable duty to discharge , and that was to present Bro . G . Starkey , now the I . P . M . of the lodge , with a Past Master's jewel with a

suitable inscription upon it , which he hoped he would be long spared to wear . His genial manner and good workmanship had . undoubtedly won him the respect of all , and perhaps in the long history of the lodge better harmony had not been than during Bro . Starkey ' s Mastership . Bro . Starkey briefly' thanked the W . M . and brethren for the handsome jewel presented , and said in the future

nothing would give him greater pleasure than to assist in the work for the prosperity of the lodge . He could not but look back upon his year of office but with a degree of pleasure to the perfect harmony that prevailed , and by the assistance of his officers the good work done in the initiation of a few capital candidates and joining members , and the hearty , way the members supported Bro . Dalrymple ' s Stewardship to ' the R . M , LB . to the tune of nearly 40 guineas ,

made the 12 months almost appear like six to him , and he could not but say he saw a happy future for his able successor , Bro . Broadbent . The usual compliments were paid by the many visitors present , and the lodge was closed ; and , at the invitation of the W . M ., about 60 adjourned to the Globe Hotel , where an excellent banquet was partaken of , and with toast and song an agreeable evening was spent .

behalf of " The Visitors . " During the evening Comps . B . Lane , Martin , W . j . Porter , and'Young instrumentally and vocally entertained the companions . The M . E . Z . presided in a most genial way ; his speeches were brief , but thoroughly pertinent .

M ., said on behalf of the officers and members of the lodge he had a very agreeable duty to discharge , and that was to present Bro . G . Starkey , now the I . P . M . of the lodge , with a Past Master's jewel with a

suitable inscription upon it , which he hoped he would be long spared to wear . His genial manner and good workmanship had . undoubtedly won him the respect of all , and perhaps in the long history of the lodge better harmony had not been than during Bro . Starkey ' s Mastership . Bro . Starkey briefly' thanked the W . M . and brethren for the handsome jewel presented , and said in the future

nothing would give him greater pleasure than to assist in the work for the prosperity of the lodge . He could not but look back upon his year of office but with a degree of pleasure to the perfect harmony that prevailed , and by the assistance of his officers the good work done in the initiation of a few capital candidates and joining members , and the hearty , way the members supported Bro . Dalrymple ' s Stewardship to ' the R . M , LB . to the tune of nearly 40 guineas ,

made the 12 months almost appear like six to him , and he could not but say he saw a happy future for his able successor , Bro . Broadbent . The usual compliments were paid by the many visitors present , and the lodge was closed ; and , at the invitation of the W . M ., about 60 adjourned to the Globe Hotel , where an excellent banquet was partaken of , and with toast and song an agreeable evening was spent .
