Washington stating that two expeditions will be despatched to the Polar regions during the coming summer , under the direction of Ihe Chief Signal Officer . These expeditions will be undertaken for purely scientific purposes . One of them will go to Lady Franklin ' s Bay and the other to Point Burrow and the north coast of Alaska .

Washington stating that two expeditions will be despatched to the Polar regions during the coming summer , under the direction of Ihe Chief Signal Officer . These expeditions will be undertaken for purely scientific purposes . One of them will go to Lady Franklin ' s Bay and the other to Point Burrow and the north coast of Alaska .
