arrived at Dover from Paris on Saturday last , and reached London on Monday . Bro . G . J . and Lady Constance Shaw-Lefevre have left town this week to spend Christmas with the Earl and Countess of Ducce at Tortworth Court , Gloucestershire .
It is understood that one of the features of the grounds surrounding the Watkin Tower to be erected at Wembly Park will be the ship railway that attracted so much attention at the ill-fated Edinburgh Exhibition . The Graphic of the 13 th inst . contained good portraits , from photographs , of Bro . Lord Carrington , first Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales , and of Bro . Dr . H . children every half-year . In his further observations Mr . Field pleaded the cause of the Charity , instancing the good work it did , and especiall y drawing attention to the fact that it vvas the only institution vvhich aimed at the relief of those who , once in prosperous circumstances , had been reduced by misfortune or sickness to indigence .
The fund for the memorial tothe late Rev . Henry White , M , A ., chaplain of the Savoy , vvas reported on Wednesday by the Hon . Secretary , Mr . W . J . Soulsby , to have reached close uppn £ 900 . The Committee at a meeting at the Savoy Choir Schools resolved to recommend to the subscribers that a stained glass window with a memorial brass should be placed in the Savoy Chapel and a mosaic in the chapel of King ' s College , London , of vvhich Mr . White was
for many years Chaplain and Censor , and where the congregation of the Savoy worshipped when the Chapel Royal was burnt . It was determined , in regard to the bulk of the fund , to ascertain on vvhat terms and conditions one or more cots could be endowed in memory of Mr . White in the children ' s ward of King ' s College Hospital . It was stated that Mr . W . M . Gordon had placed some seats in the chapel garden in memory of the Chaplain .

The Robin Society , of which Lord Rothschild and Bro . In consequence of newspaper statements with reference to the alleged insanitary condition of some London and provincial theatres , Mr . Norman Forbes has appointed a sanitary expert in the person of Mr . Reginald G . Hansell , F . S . I ., to periodically inspect and advise as to the sanitary arrangements at the Globe Theatre , both before and behind the curtain .
Bro . Theodore Barth , of Dalhousie Lodge , No . 865 , has recently been appointed principal of the Kensington School of Music and conductor of the choir of the Pro Cathedral , Kensington , in succession to the late Mr . VV . Buels . Bro . Barth has been conducting in Mr . Buels stead for nearly a year , and his appointment proves that his duties have been carried out successfully .
The Prince of Wales , who presided on Wednesday at the 27 th meeting of the Organising Committee of the Imperial Institute , held at Marlborough House , said that he had added Sir R . Temple and Sir J . Strachey to the Committee . A donation by the Maharajah of Jeypore of

The patients at Brompton Hospital had a treat on Tuesday , when a very pleasant entertainment was arranged for their delectation by Mr . Frank Farren . Mr .
