MASONIC CHARUY ASSOCIATIONS . To the Editor of the " Freemason . In the course of the year I shall be a Life-Governor of two of the Masonic Charities , and later on I hope to include

How many others are in a similar position ? There has been no cost to the Charities and no trouble to their officials . The officers of the Associations have done the work , and received " a vote of thanks "—in onecase which
came under my notice—of some half dozen members present . I feel personally gratelul to the brethren who have so kindly undertaken the wor k of the Associations of which I am , and have been a member , and I heartily agree with your correspondents that they should receive some fitting recognition ot their arduous labours , whettier it

MASONIC CHARITIES . To the Editor of the "Freemason . " Dear Sir and Brother , I was surprised at tbe appearance , in your issue of last week , of a further letter from " Zetetes , " on this subject . but had " Zetetes " read my first letter before criticising it , he would have learned that I never suggested the province I was referring to " got votes without payment , " but that though it had received many benefits from our Institutions during the last four years , it had been only very feebly represented at the Festivals held during that period . I have already refused
to give the name of the province I had in my mind , but I may state that the facts remain as I described them , the criticisms passed upon my letters not having affected these in the slightest degree . Could 1 have foreseen that some of your correspondents proposed applying my comments to matters outside the original scope of the discussion , that is , " J . 174 " ' s table , I might have expressed myself
somewhat differently so as to guard against any misconceptions on their part of my intention . But my description , so far as it went , would have held good in that case , as it holds good now .
