W . ; Westley , Preceptor and Treas . ; Poole , acting as Sec . ; King , S . D . ; Lavington , J . D . ; Balcombe , I . G . ; Weeks , Tyler ; Cochrane , Gilbert , C . Reeves , Windsor , Lea , Nettleship , Steele , Folkard ,

Cope , Morris , Penn , and Bye . Visitor : Bro . F . Reeves . The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed . The ceremony of initiation being announced , and Bro . Reeves having offered himself as a candidate , was initiated . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and the ceremony of raising being announced , and Bro . Gilbert having offered himself

The chapter was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to the Cafe Royal to banquet . Upon the removal of the cloth the customary toasts followed . In giving the toast of "The M . W . S ., " III . Bro . Paas said that no doubt the M . W . S . was greatly disappointed that the candidates were prevented that evening from

attendingto be perfected . Bro . Graveley had worked very well during his year of office , and he trusted that on the nest occasion the candidates would put in an appearance . The M . W . S ., in reply , said that their worth ) Treasurer had indeed expressed his feelings when he touched upon the subject of the non-attendance of the candidates for perfection . He had looked forward

particularly to perfecting his old friend , Bro . Shurmur , that evening , and he had been at some pains in getting up the ceremony , However , he hoped that at the next meeting he should bt able not only to induct Bro . Shurmur , but two other worthy brethren into their illustrious chapter . In proposing the toast of " The Treasurer , " the M . W . S '

called attention to the fact that at the April meeting it w » intended to present Bro . W . Pass with a testimonial m recognition of varied services that had been given without cessation for a period of nearly a quarter of a century . The toast of "The Officers , " coupled with the nanicol 111 . Bro . Lardner , terminated the proceedings .

attendingto be perfected . Bro . Graveley had worked very well during his year of office , and he trusted that on the nest occasion the candidates would put in an appearance . The M . W . S ., in reply , said that their worth ) Treasurer had indeed expressed his feelings when he touched upon the subject of the non-attendance of the candidates for perfection . He had looked forward

particularly to perfecting his old friend , Bro . Shurmur , that evening , and he had been at some pains in getting up the ceremony , However , he hoped that at the next meeting he should bt able not only to induct Bro .
