addresses which were earnestly delivered , a Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . Forge , in recognition of his services as VV . M . Previously to the lodge being closed , a notice of motion was given to call a special meeting to consider the advisability of removing the lodge . A vote of thanks having been given to the Installing Officer for his services , which he duly acknowledged , the lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to banquet , and the usual toasts followed .

RUGELEY . —St . Augustine ' s Lodge ( No . 1941 ) . —On Tuesday evening the regular monthly meeting was held at the Lodge Room , Shrewsbury Arms Hotel . In the absence of the W . M ., Bro . W . The lodge having been duly opened , the Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting , and also the bye-laws of the lodge . The brethren next proceeded to vote , by ballot , for the election of a W . M . for the ensuing 12 months .

"ro . George Buttery , I . P . M ., was declared to be unanimousl y elected . Bro . Thomas James was also unanimously re-elected as Treasurer , and Bro . VV . Turner as Tyler . Other business having been transacted the lodge was closed in perfect harmony . Kedge proposed that the Fifteen Sections be worked in this lodge of instruction on Thursday evening , the gth of April ; seconded by Bro . X . Alordecai , whereupon Bro . A . Clark , P . M ., proposed that Bro . Smith be asked to take the chair on that evening , and also to appoint his officers ;

seconded by Bro . Stroud . Bro . Smith replied , and said he should be most happy to do so , and trusted that brethren would give in their names to Bro . Reynolds who were willing to work a Section on that evening . Bro . Stroud then made motion that Bro . Reynolds have cards printed as soon as possible with the names of the

brethren who would assist Bro . Smith ; seconded by Bro . A . Clark , P . M . Bro . A . Clark , P . AL , proposed that a cordial vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes of this lodge of instruction to Bro . Reynolds for the able and efficient manner he had worked to make their annual supper such a success on Thursday , the 5 th inst .

This was seconded by Bro . Stroud , who said it was a great credit to their worthy Secretary , and trusted he should see many more such suppers . Bro . Reynolds , in replying , said it was a gratification to see such a good assemblage at their supper—it quite repaid him for all trouble . All went well , and he thought there would be a small balance to hand to the lodge of

instruction . He thanked the Stewards and brethren for their kind co-operation , and trusted that next year , all going well , they would get the number of brethren to 100 . The brethren gave their hearty congratulations to Bro . Smith on his recovery from his late illness , and were pleased tosee him again with them . Nothing furtheroffering for the good of Freemasonry , the lodge was closed .

Gilbert being the candidate . Bro .

Glover , a candidate to be raised to the Third Degree , answered the usual questions and was entrusted . The lodge was opened in the Third Degree . The ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Glover being the candidate . The lodge was closed in the Second and Third Degrees . The W . AL rose for the first time , and it was proposed ,

seconded , and unanimously carried , that Bro . W . C . Smth , 1563 , be elected a joining member of this lodge of instruction . Bro . Smith having replied , the W . AI . rose for the second time , and Bro . Taylor was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing week . Nothing further offering , the lodge was closed infperfect harmony .

Sir Knights Jas . W . Spence and Jones-Parry were then introduced , and most ably inducted into the Order by Sic Knight Loveland-Loveland . Upon the conclusion of the ceremony a vote ot thanks was unanimously passed , and ordered to be entered on the minutes , in recognition of the valuable and efficient services of Sir Knight Loveland-Loveland .

The priory was then closed , and the sir knights adjourned to the Holborn Restaurant , where an excellent banquet was served . Upon the removal of the cloth , the long array of toasts were given from the chair briefly but peitinently . The proceedings terminated at _ an early hour .

This was seconded by Bro . Stroud , who said it was a great credit to their worthy Secretary , and trusted he should see many more such suppers . Bro . Reynolds , in replying , said it was a gratification to see such a good assemblage at their supper—it quite repaid him for all trouble . All went well , and he thought there would be a small balance to hand to the lodge of

instruction . He thanked the Stewards and brethren for their kind co-operation , and trusted that next year , all going well , they would get the number of brethren to 100 . The brethren gave their hearty congratulations to Bro . Smith on his recovery from his late illness , and were pleased tosee him again with them .
